1.79, I think. Here's where I got it. The patch basically makes the game playable, but it's still buggy about picking up groups of loose fighters.

I demand secret scouting missions going against the will of the government, trying to get a secret colony going.

This could be a problem, as you don't actually own a space yard. You'll need it commissioned, which will cost a lot of money. Also, it’s up to the players who run the organizations if they’ll help an illegal and dangerous operation like that. Here are the organizations that can build it for you:

Prowler company: Prowlers, Journeymen, and colony ships. Expensive, but most efficient and well armed. However, the sons of Cocytus have it in for them, so bad things might happen to your ships.

RC Extraction: Colony ships. In bed with the government a bit, so they might not bite.

Honest Boskii’s Honest ships: Big Boskii, Uralosric starliner. Unreliable but sure to sell without moral issues.

Governor Toony: Colony ships. He’s crazy, though, and you never know what he’ll do if you ask him about it.

Incidentally, I totally approve of this sort of thing. It makes for good story, which is what the LP is supposed to be about.

Deal, but we will roll a die.

1 - You pay 3x the original price.
2 - You pay 2x the original price.
3 - You pay the original price.
4 - You pay half of the original price.
5 - You pay quarter of the original price.
6 - You pay nothing.

I volunteer to be a test pilot in the glowy blue thing project. And drop a note about developing some sort of armour plating into the ideas box...

Hey, studying the glowy blue thing is my job. I believe that in 70 or 80 years, we might possibly have the technology to do something with it.

"Really, is that so? Well, that's too bad, and I thought I was going to let you live. But I can't."

Yeah, but surely you can use suicidalcourageous types willing to brave the unknown to further, erm, human? knowledge!

What sort of empire is this anyway?

An arm moves from out of the shadows, and pistol in it's hand. The barrel pointed at TNME, the owner pulled the hammer of the gun as he exited fully from the shadow, who is none other than Luke Prowler, with another pistol in his other hand.

My right arm comes up, grasping a plasma grenade, with my finger about to pull the pin.

"Why, it's so pleasant to see you on this fine day, Prowler."

"It is good to see you too" replied Luke, his gun still raised.

"Now, why are you here, and why should I refrain from pulling the pin and blowing us all into the next solar system?"
