Arbangisdist Zoluthkivish needs rough color stone rock?
« on: July 29, 2009, 10:58:00 am »

My best (read; only) engraver has nabbed a craftsdwarf workshop in a mood, and is muttering the title. What do I need to stop him going Postal on my fresh-faced fortress?

Yep, rough colour is uncut gems. check the wiki for all of them.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Sounds like rough gems.

That's what I though. Shit.

I've found two suqares of Lace Agate. One of them is in my noble's room, and is smoothed.

So much for my expert engraver, who filled the dining room with stories about elves having their third finger right hand ripped off by a laughing human.

I had a situation like that. I had cut al the gems, and only had one thing left. I sent a miner and he dug it out, but went for a drink, and then a ranger ran along the path and picked up the gem, saving me from losing one of my best guys. In the end he made a legendary large sapphire, it was worth loads!

If you mine into a smooth wall with a gem won't it still create a rough gem?

I believe it does, yes. However, if you're engraving your noble's walls the constructed wall you replace the gemwall with can't be engraved. And has a much lower value.

There is an engraving of three dwarves in a dining room. The third dwarf is a soaper.
