11x11 embark.

I'm playing on a 12x14 embark and visualizer works fine.
I also tested on a 16x16 area, worked fine there to.
Both have a lot of z-layers.

Also, I have 8GB of ram, might make a difference.

I'm getting a problem when I try to use it...

When I do the File > Dump From DF and hit OK on the box I get this error message

Unable to detect supported DF version
Memory read aborted

I have the current version of Dwarf Fortress, and It's running a loaded game, I don't know why it wont work. Any help?

Hey um, is there a material that shows up as bright white or something close to pure white?

I was planning on making some 'ivory' towers (I named my fort 'Ivorytowers') and while chalk shows up as pure white ingame, it shows as a light grey with a yellowish tone to it. At least that's what the small marksdwarf tower which I put to guard the entrance looks like, which is made with rough chalk.

Making the guard tower a bright white isn't a big deal, but I want my megaproject (I think it would count as one) to use some marterial that would show up as a bright white or something.

I think you need Windows XP or higher to run it, that's what it says in the minimum requirements on the first page :|

Somebody else was having a similar problem. First thing to try is updating your video-card drivers. Alos if you have a card with a low amount of video ram it could be filling up. This looks more like a 3D acceleratot/driver problem than a VF bug, since the code it's running after 'Loading Textures' is not particularly complicated. Does this happen every time (even on different maps), or only on one map?

Incidentally, sorry for my lack of activity recently. I've been very busy and I'm taking a small break from the project to finish a Sword of the Stars campaign, but progress is continuing.

And thanks for the models, keep 'em coming! Unfortunately the one for bins isn't any use though, bins are technically an item and aren't detected by VF.

1. Compatibility with 40d16 - happening, or not happening?
2. Where can I get the unofficial bin. or whatever files for VF?

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

I'm using 40d16 and I downloaded the newest version of VF and it works wonderfully. No idea about the second question, though.

You can download OBJ file of it from this http://sites.google.com/site/3d2dstuff/
to use it in VisFort it should be like 6-7% of its original size(can be configured in VisFort files) standart texture used.

It uses CC license so you can use/modify it but can not use it in comercial.

VF is compatible with 40d16.

Four <DF, not real> years ago a group of dwarves named "The Beards of Fury" has started a new fortress named "Daggerfall".

The housing ziggurat is almost complete (its bottom is of sandstone and top is of magnetite):
