I assume that regardless their size, they'd be reduced to be able to fit inside? ;D

Nice to see models coming around.  Hopefully, the next version will populate our visualized forts with all kinds of stuff.

Continued progress on my colosseum:

I have also noticed that visualizer bug where changing visual settings (like checking and unchecking the 'shadows' option multiple times) causes the view distance to decrease dramatically as well as slightly changing how the scale appears. Here is the same colosseum as above, but with the bug affecting it:

Uh.  Those two images are at completely different angles.

This second image is a lot further back, it's quite possible you hit the edge of the draw distance..
We need a way to increase it, as I have a 100-z map, it's impossible to see the top from the bottom (as hilarious as that is, it ruins the effect of my tower)

how about making a flat roof on the cages? Should reduce polygon count some, and might even look better aswell

I'd agree that cages could use less polygons and flat roof/floor.

Good work. The models are really simple, but sometimes it's harder to make yourself to create lots of simple models than a single complex one :).

the floor is already flat but it can be a little optimized to be 117 polys(was 121)

if I'll make roof flat too it cause cages to be a lot less recognizable from bins and other stuff.

Yeah - I agree with Haus sneakey pete. All the forts I have now aren't big enough to make a megaproject on. I might just get my eternal halls one back and start something.

Ok, here are a pair of better comparisons. In both, the camera is in exactly the same position, looking in exactly the same directions. In the first, without the bug, you can see to the edge of the map on the far side. With it, you can't see much past the colosseum. There is also a bit of odd scaling difference caused by the bug. The bug seems to happen every time I check then uncheck shadows option.

Since part of the bug's effects are to change the scale slightly, it may be relevant for me to tell you I am using 10z and 10xy as far as the scales.

There needs to be a way to change the lighting angle, as you can't see my statue's face.

Also, as noted before, the ramp for his nose connects to his helmet, instead of his face as it should.

Weird thing is: whatever I model in Wings3D, before exporting to .obj I have to flip all the face normals so they point inward.. if I don't do that, the objects themselves look inverted in Visual Fortress.
Not that it's entirely complicated to do a flip (select - right click - invert), but feels awkward..

This needs to be better documented. Numpad +/- to move the sun, R and F move the camera up and down, and Z and X roll the camera.
