May as well stick together.  We've got nothing else to go on.

You do your best to keep silent as you move deeper in.  The passage twists and winds, occasionally branching off into forks, but most of them seem to be dead ends.  You eventually reach a large, vaguely triangular room.  The room is almost completely coated in sheets of webbing, and you can just make out a large hole at the northern terminus of the room.  The muffled sounds are louder here, and you think they must be coming from the hole.

I didn't modify its stats, it's not going to be a savage killmachine like the DF GCSs.

Keep in mind that if the resident spider is here, stepping on the webs will alert it, and you'll have a lot of trouble moving while standing on them.

What kind of moron doesn't know not to step on the giant spider webs?  Obviously, if we're going to proceed, we proceed with great caution.  However, none of this makes much sense.  We're here to rescue children the Goblins snatched, and we've wound up in a spider hole.  We haven't seen signs of Goblin one, and now we're about to tangle with a horse-sized spider.  The Goblins would not keep or put snatchees in a spider hole, so I say we're going the wrong way.

Hey, Sam and Frodo encountered Shelob en-route to Mordor, so maybe this is a similar thing. And before you ask, yes, that makes Cthulu Gollum.

Is this an appropriate time to ready Magic Missiles?

I'd suggest magic daggers and vials of an unknown liquid given to you by some insane Elf bitch.

Nobody needs a nature check to know that giant spider webs are a bad sign.  I say we turn around, head back to that fork in the cave we passed earlier, and go that way.  If one of the kids we're supposed to rescue is down there, he was as good as dead long before we arrived.

I agree with the Baron.

But seriously, who the fuck needs a knowledge check to learn that?
