(This text adventure is inspired by the "Tesla tank" I recently tried to do in "The Man of the Future and Past!", as well as from the second A Kobolds Quest. It will probably just be a text adventure whit short amounts of time spent, but if it gets awesome enough and/or gets me emotionally involved, it might get illustrated, as well as getting more long paragraphs exploring the setting and characters. The goal is to invent dwarfy things, and most crazy stuff (like anti-gravity cats, or the infinite loop generators from AKQ) will work, but there are are limits to that. It focuses on the process of designing and building things, rather than the end result. The things you build can be nerdily realistic (Steam engine! Babbage machine! Automated still!), or highly not so (Steam powered humongous mecha!), but in all cases you will have to describe a fair and reasonable way to produce them whit the materials and competences available to you (basically most of the fort, considering the profession of the wife  and the fact that you are a legendary) and you WILL have to bugfix your creation and work out other hassles related to fortress life. While everyone controls the same dwarf, and non-mechanics-related actions are controlled by everyone like a normal text adventure, each will have their own projects that other people are not allowed to mess whit directly unless they say so or go inactive for a long time without warning. Adding actual image blueprints is appreciated in this thread. May your designs be sound xor your times Fun.)

You are Dwarf. Not only that, but you're the most drunken, long bearded, genius dwarf the world have ever seen. You are a legendary mechanic.

You Live in a fortress, fortress Neverbuttock, it's a big, successful fortress whit over 200 dwarves, all the resources such a fortress usually has, and a bit more. You live there whit your wife, who is the honoured hammerer of Neverbuttock, and your 3 children. you have been ecstatic lately, you have suffered a head trauma lately. You have been stricken by many flashes of brilliant inspiration since your head trauma, some of which you don't even understand yourself. The doctors say the hoof hit your "Fey Cortex", which is apparently some part of your brain. You have also had a hard time concentrating however, and often find yourself suddenly switching from one activity or project to another. You are on your workshop, a picturesque thing next to the trade depot.

What is your name now again?

You grab your flask and head down to the booze stockpile, after bottom up-ing a half full barrel, you dip your flask in another one that fills it up so you have something to drink during the day! Ahh, now you feel ready to really do some work!

NO!
Instead, go back to mechanics shop lab and begin construction of an automated noble slapping device

You see the philosopher sitting around, crying in a corner. It gives you a warm feeling inside, which in turn gives you an idea for an invention; but how are you going to IMPLEMENT it?
