Favourite Story Quotes.
« on: July 28, 2009, 09:12:21 pm »

Well, I'm reading through ThreeToes stories. And I just laughed out loud at this part. "The bowman was a foul elf.[...]A swarm of bees flew from his sleeves."

My god. Bees.

Anyone else have any good story quotes? Doesn't have to be from ThreeToe, could be from any DF community story or something.

*is expecting mostly Nist Akath quotes o.o*

Why do you expect mostly Nist Akath quotes?

...

This fortress is ridiculously doomed. Count me in.

My favourite from the classic Boatmurdered.

Quote from: StarkRavingMad
I've started project "Fuck The World", a top secret attempt to funnel magma to the outside. I'll kill those elephants. I'll kill all those fucking elephants.

My sig. That quote holds so much terror and anticipation if you hear the legends about the elephants of Boatmurdered before you actually read Boatmurdered.

I wasn't even aware of Nist Akath until this thread I started reading it, and htis particular quote caught my eye:
He shortly burst out again, running back and forth in the hall, tearing off his clothes.
Shortly he wore only his hood, a sock, and a shoe.
Soon it was just the hood.
And soon it was nothing at all. Strangely, this seamed better than just the hood. That was disturbing.
Sadly, it seems around 60% of the pictures in the early story are now invalid, so I can't get the whole picture, but I see the general jist.

I saw the thread title and my immediate response was "Everything from Boatmurdered."

This thread did not disappoint.

And I simply doubt we have a need for 7 fishery workers. On top of that, a second soap maker. The hell IS soap?!

From sparkgear 3...

Nahkh: "That's not how you deal with orcs!"
Barbarossa: "That's how I deal with orcs."

This being after I charged every single dwarf out to fight the orcish menace (a squad of wrestlers and a squad of archers) in order to save the Godking Ryan, who died due to the next ruler's overlarge empathy gland.

Two dwarves lived.
