You know what this game needs? A fear system. I mean, right now if you do so much as steal a sock every last person in town will charge forward to try and kill you, even if you have the horribly mutilated bodies of their friends and family at your feet. Now, this doesn't seem very realistic does it? I mean, why are kids trying to kill me after they just saw me sodomize their mother with a battleax? Shouldn't they be running away in terror?
So here's the idea I have: You have two counters, a fear and a courage counter. Everytime you do something that would cause fear in people your fear counter goes up. Each person in the world has a courage counter and if your fear counter is higher then their courage counter then they are afraid of you. How much Higher your fear counter is determines how afraid of you they are. There could be modifiers, such as a multiplication of fear if the person saw you commit some of the fearful actions versus just hearing about them.
Beyond this we could add a few moves that would capitalize on the new fear element. For example, Vivisection. It would require a bladed weapon (knife, sword or ax), a free hand and would be found under the wrestle section. The idea would be to grab the throat with the free hand and then start the vivisection commands. If successful you would slice the enemy open from the bottom of the throat to the groin, causing massive pain and some bleeding but no internal organ damage. However, a vivisected enemy would have its organs exposed, which means that you could grab and potentially tear them out. It wouldn't be the most effective means to kill someone (you'd have to have a specific weapon and no shield) but it would scare the holy hell out of anyone around you.
What do you guys think?
