I fail to understand why heavy lasers are more expensive then laser rifles. Or laser pistols.

Ow, my head. What's with this drill, and why are those warning sirens so loud? Aliens don't exist, so why do we drill? Whoever is giving us money to "fight alien threats" by drinking heavily can't possibly monitor our drinking. I need to thank whoever in charge for coming up with this scam, but ... ow, my head. Why are these sirens so loud, and why is that guy yelling at me to hurry up? Alright, alright, I'm coming.

xcom util makes heavy lasers very good sniping weapons, and fairly powerful to boot

I don't see any reason they couldn't be. What would happen if they breached the HFS?

The Heavy Lasers are pretty crappy no matter what. Unless Util also lets you Autoshot with them, Laser Rifles will pretty much always be better.

Quibble

Translation: I find any further attempts to communicate with my colleagues shall be fruitless. Therefore I turn my mind to more important tasks, such as the invasion at hand. Ever since I was able to communicate to the science team that lasers could be used as weapons (my greatest triumph in linguistic skills) I have been servingas the team's head. Why I am going on the grunt work confounds me, but I suppose I have no choice. I just hope that there are some pistols for our team to use.

I'll be among the first replacements.

Name: Jackson (Jillson if female) Euchon
Gender: Whatever
Nationality: Whatever
Backstory: J. Euchon was gazing in horror at the handiwork of the Aliens near what is commonly believed to be the former X-COM Command Center.  However, as it is really the NEW X-COM Command Center, J. Euchon was mistaken for the newest replacement soldier.

J. Euchon's though pattern will go from Confusion, to Denial, to Blaming Others, to eventual Acceptance of the new life as Defender of the World.  Assuming this soldier lives throught the first mission.

Questions on the weapons:
If I have two points, can I have a Rifle, Grenade, and Smoke, or just one 2 point weapon?
Do I need two points to have two grenades, or is one point sufficient?

Oh the alarm...

It appears that there is a 97.86% chance that somebody's lifespan will decrease incredibly in our futile effort to combat forces much greater than ours.

Mah journal thingy:

Well, I found out that that thar X-com thing was recruiting last week. Turns out they were made to fight ghosts! Or something. I don't really care. They did have a bottomless barrel policy, and that I did care about. Then they got blown up. Crap. Good thing I was in the basement at the time, taking advantage of said policy. After carving myself a mug of course. I still have that mug, it has an engraving of a cheese on it and everything! Huh.. Crap, an alarm. I hope that means something other then one of those damned annoying fire drills. Anything would be better then yet another one of those...

Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.
