Uber trap design
« on: July 28, 2009, 12:14:57 am »

This is concept only, but I can't see any reason for it to fail: 3 spaces into the map, channel out all squares, except for one 3x3 path to the fortress for caravans

Kinda, not too good with text art. Line the one path in with enough traps, even BoatMurdered would have had an abundance of elephant corpses. Sound good? ;D

I'm unspeakably dissspointed. A dwarven fortress has discovered a sentient creature made out of mushrooms, and no one has proposed brewing him?

So the ultimate trap is just a ton of normal traps?

Hell, the Uber trap would have a spiral going around several z-levels of the map, every inch trapped.

Stick around kid, you are gonna be blown away.

And it has been a while since Boatmurdered. You might want to find out about the changes. Things are... different now.

1-Create a building over a single support, only 1 room.
2-Create a moat under it, leaving only the ground tile the support is at.
3-Construct a magma-safe atom-smasher drawbridge inside.
4-Put some tame lions/war dogs/hippos/elephants inside.
5-Put some booze barrels inside.
6-Drop prisoners inside.
7-Let your beasts maul them to oblivion.
8-Before everyone dies, flood the room with magma.
9-Watch as the booze barrels boil and explode.
10-Atom-smash everything.
11-Pull the level that destroys the single support holding the room.
12-Watch the glorious cave-in.
13-Watch as the magma falls into the moat encasing everything in obsidian.
14-????
15-Profit!

This is the single most dwarfy thing i've thought of in ages.

Yikes, the Orcs have a nasty language.  Traditional foreplay would be right out for them; how would they ever "say my name" for one another?  No wonder Ocrs are always so bloodthirsty and violent, they're getting sub-par action.

Forget the flippin caravans, no need for traps either, just collaps the whole frakking map, everything, then fill it all with magma.

Thats it.

Any use of "Uber" and "Trap" in the same sentence requires the use of an insane amount of magma. Magma traps are about the most dwarvenly things ever. The more ridiculously elaborate, the better.
But if you're new to the game, welcome. ;D We don't have many newcomers here.

Actually, the most dwarfy thing ever is to collapse a bridge with enemies on top of it, then poor magma into the resulting pit. Then use that same magma to flood your fortress when you are about to lose.
