Also, so people can post about the voting here, instead of in that other thread. No vote begging! I do definitely think this topic should have a place in DF general though, instead of just the suggestions sub-forum, and I don't think the only mention to it on the front page deserves to be there.

I'll second that, it only needs a few more votes to overtake Auto-mining.  Though I wish it had been more specific, I've always assumed it ment that the terrain features will not be mixed with the character sets but will instead use 'pages' like units thus allowing for near unlimited choices and opening the way for real art to get made.

Huh, Graphics Support was in 10th before this thread. Now it's tied for the place. That said, #7 is resolved and people should really remove their votes from it.

I think a major problem with a lot of the suggestions is lack of detail. Sure, Improved Hauling is popular, but is that covers anything at all related to carrying stuff and it's pretty much impossible that if Toady does do something to improve hauling everyone that voted will be satisfied. It's nearly as general as that "Improving the game!" suggestion. And the Graphics Support is the same, with no one really specifying what kind of graphics support it means.
