Problem with dwarves and tombs
« on: July 27, 2009, 05:43:49 am »

I can't seem to understand why these dwarves have been trying to place items that they can't reach in tombs for the last 2 years. It's getting annoying.

How do I stop this? There are some dead dwarves in water, will I have to drain my moat just to get them to shut up?

Does forbidding the stuff in the moat help?

Dwarves will not path through water deeper then 4/7, so if the moat has water deeper then that you will have to drain it, or just forbid the items.

Alternatively, pour magma into the moat and encase the items in obsidian, they will stop trying to bury it.

What kind of statues are your masons making, that you think they have "maximum exposure"?
(Full frontal ones, apparently.  With very short beards.)

Well I did try forbidding all the items, to no avail.

Also no magma.

Oh apparently I had restricted traffic set in the water...

Not that they can reach it anyways but that stopped it. Thanks...

That, in no way, makes any sense at all.  Whatever.

Deconstruct all your sarcophagi, coffins, and caskets. They can't place items in tombs if there are no tombs.

If you want to pay your respects to dwarves who died in your service, however, you might try draining the moat and get valuable screw pump experience in the process.
