Disconnect his house from the electrical net for a while, that should get him back in line.
If that doesn't work, try employing the friend of a friend. If that doenst work either Port just hates you, otherwise your PC is doing somthing he doesnt like.

Anyway, I tried that, it's still not working.  I'm wondering if my ISP doesn't let you forward ports.  I've heard of people doing that.  If that's not the case I'm about to go get a pair of pliers and force these ports open.  Don't tell me it can't be done, I'll find a way.

Annoying. You don't have an additional virusscanner or spyware filter? (you should!)
You are supposed toget a popup, from your firewall or whatever, asking for permission as soon as a program is trying to access online info. Then you can permit it and it should be added to the list of exceptions.
Unfortunately many programs want several specific ports open.

I just remembered something: your router probably also has a firewall.
access your router in your browser (by typing in it's factory default IP in the address bar) ,
the password is probably 1234 or 0000. Add the program and open ports to the exception lists for the firewall. (incoming and outgoing)

From my Borderlands LP thread.

I've apparently lost my ability to play Borderlands online.  When I click Join game it says no matches found and removes all of the buttons except  the hosting buttons.

I am so sick of computers and the internet right now.  I can handle something not working, I can't handle something not working and not having any reason for not working.  It pisses me off more than anything else.

I'm just gonna go take out my anger on Cleverbot for a while.
