I remember when EA made games that didn't suck.

They still do it is just that you have to do a bit of digging.

Which is funny since they seem to release as many games as all the other companies combined yet they only get what? 2-3 good games a year?

Those 2-3 games are purely accidental, I assure you.   ;)

I still think the people who hear crys of 'hijacking is overpowered' or 'I dont like being confused right when I jump in' have never even played before when they come up with solutions like limiting your god damn units or quicktime events. Seriously, quicktime is for Myst and Myst-likes only. And EA could never make Myst.

While we're complaining, doesn't 2010 seem a little rushed? I would hate to find out all this leveling heresy doesn't ruin the game but limited content and not enough bug testing did.

I'm just hearing some details about the MP, seems interesting right, you can have up to a 5v5 player game. You earn points to spend on units/upgrades/support powers in singleplayer and MP. And the gigantic mech thing you see in the photos replaces you Conyard suppoesedly.

it burns!!!! it burns!!!!

Inorite? I read 5v5 and I was like 'yay' and then upgrades and i was like 'awww'.

Er, what i mean to say it, maybe the level system could be salvaged if it was replaced with a research system, or if you're allowed to (in multiplayer) choose what level/how many points you want to start with and then upgrade your units before the battle. That would mean two noobs fighting could have the limited and simple range of units they want, but if you're fighting someone with more experience points, or if you just feel like it, both players can start with all or a very large number of points.

That would actually make sense.

To be honest they had a fairly good reason for doing the mobile conyards. It was because after a few weeks of an RTS being out, there is only ever ONE base tactic that'll give you a win in a game, they say that this way it'll be alot more fair for everyone.

Thats like fixing a problem with a gun being overpowered in a shooter by giving everyone the gun from the start.

On the cinematic:
Why is GDI holding a meeting in a shadowy room in a dilapidated building right in the middle of a red zone?
Why is the planet deteriorating? They went from 0/50/50 Blue/Yellow/Red in TS to 30/50/20 in TW.
Why does Kane have an Orca? Last time i checked they were GDI material.
Why do the nod(?) soldiers have p90's and why do they keep their fingers on the trigger at all times? Besides being 70 years old, that thing is about as ergonomic as a porcupine when holding it like that for any amount of time.
Why is GDI negotiating with Kane? This one makes no sense whatsoever.
And finally, why did the Tacitus shrink from being about a meter in diameter to fitting inside somebody's palm?
On the press release: No interest in the game whatsoever.

Most of the stuff is explained in assorted places I read:
Basically after C&C3 the entire world has been approaching the point where ALL areas are covered in tiberium, to the point where they GDI probably don't really have anywhere else left for their shadowy meeting.
Dunno about the Orca - maybe it's stolen? It's always been a factor in C&C that vehicles and the facilities to make vehicles can be taken over..
The P90s might just be an oversight, although I'd argue that to this date there has been no gun more perfect and that I'd rather have at my side than the M1 Carbine, and that must be approaching 70 years old..
The GDI is /not/ negotiating with Kane, it seems to me that he just sort of showed up there, and being that the world is on the brink of totally driving the human race extinct, they are willing to hear him out.
The Tacitus I have no idea about.

1) it's not a real red zone, it used to be blue... anyway that is supposedly their headquarters.
2) not really, there were a lot of blue zones in the 2030s, they just weren't in the game (since they had no tiberium to be mined). though it does happen rather too quickly...
2a) a better question is WTH happened to all the mutants? Except for the saboteur and the suicide bomber guys(maybe), they are strangely absent from both the gameplay and the game world at large. (they should live in the red zones!)
3)Kane is being escorted by GDI personnel. (you can hear the orca conversing with the GDI headquarters/dilapidated building)
4)I would have to agree it's odd that GDI still uses P-90s. as for holding their finger on the trigger at all times, I guess they are expecting Kane to pull something off, and this symbolizes how they are on high alert... or something.
5)what? it makes tons of sense. GDI always wanted to resolve the conflict peacefully.
6)It's an old anomaly: In 2 last missions of Kane's Wrath, it goes from being small enough to fit in a truck (a really big truck, mind you), to being about as big as a power plant (estimated visually), to being handheld in the victory cinematic.

1) As said, that's probably either their old headquarters, and the shot meant to show how desperate life on Earth has become, or they wanted to meet with a dangerous target like Kane in a very remote and inaccessible location.
2) The planet rapidly deteriorating is the whole point of the series.  Remember how much worse everything supposedly got just in between Tiberian Sun and it's own expansion?
3) Like a1s said, Kane is being escorted (under armed guard) in a GDI craft by GDI personnel.
4) The video directors probably wanted futuristic looking guns, and those were the best props they had.
5) GDI are the good guys remember?  After failing to kill Kane so many times over the past century or so, it's not hard to imagine that when he offers to talk, they'd take him up on it just to see what happens.
6) The Tacitus is really the All-Spark, and can change size and shape as needed.

Well, it seems the last C&C game that was done right was Tiberium Wars. RA3 sucked, I didn't play Uprising, but it got some terrible reviews. So yeah, best way to bring something to an end is to slowly destroy it.

It doesn't explain why the earth is deteriorating when in TW, GDI converted 60% of the red zones to yellow and 30% of the yellow zones to blue. They were reclaiming the planet at a pretty decent rate at that point. In TW itself, the Scrin took a lot of it to build their Threshold towers, the explosion under temple prime burned away a huge reservoir and(if canon) the liquid bomb consumed an entire yellow zone worth of the stuff.

And the board members did knew Kane was coming, the announcer kept talking about about him for the whole time.

The tiberium was supposed to have taken some kind of last form. This might cause accelerated spreading.

I think the last good C&C was tiberian sun. The base building in tiberium wars was lacking in my opinion.

I haven't played Tiberian Sun, I've heard Generals was great, and I've had tons of fun playing Tiberium Wars.
