I am begging EA to not mess this up. I want to play a command and conquer of yesteryear where gameplay was more important than graphics. The first game was the very first PC game I played when I was younger and always have a blast playing to this day. 14 years later it still beats Red Alert 3. I always did like the tiberian saga best but if EA doesn't get this right then any game they release will be "rented" first before purchase.

Okay, I am exaggerating a bit. Moral of the story, Westwood>EA

Cool trailer, but they don't have the best track record to say the least.

class based gameplay?

EA is indeed completely insane

They will never make a game as great as Tiberian Sun, because they are just to stupid to realize what makes games fun.

Where do you find real, unbought, reviews?

What the hell were they thinking smoking when they gave EA C&C???

As if Mercenaries 2, LotR: Conquest, Red Alert 3, etc, weren't enough of a warning?

Not only THAT, they're toting it to be the last in the series? In other words, EA will be stuffing the IP in its closet after they're done?

And seriously, class-based gameplay? At least they haven't said 'quicktime sequences'... yet.

Quote from: Gamespot Preview
SB: Essentially, whenever you play Command & Conquer 4, be it in single-player, co-op, skirmish, or online, you earn experience that collects in your persistent player profile. Within the profile, you use your experience pool to level up your classes, earning new units, structures, powers, and upgrades. Since your profile is persistent across the game, you can then take your new toys and put them to use in any of our game modes.

Beyond the obvious compulsions this adds to the game, the player progression system lets us tackle one of the biggest issues we've encountered as RTS developers. To put it simply, when--as an RTS newbie--you install the game, enter your first match, and find yourself faced with 13 units, 10 structures, and an ungodly number of additional powers and upgrades.

It isn't an RTS anymore, how the fudge do you balance something like this? Oh and well, up to now, the campaign fixed the fact the you were "overwhelmed" by the amount of stuff you had. Meh, I'm sticking with Blizzard from now on.

Didn't read that preview... so basically, they're trying to remove skill-based gameplay by making you grind to be more powerful? I'm... I'm disappointed in you, EA. :(

Y'know, I remember when EA made games that didn't suck. Actually, I don't think anyone anachronized it to EA back then, they called themselves Electronic Arts...

Alas, things have changed.

This looks awfully like C&C3, just with some stuff added on.

I would settle for an exact clone of tiberian sun, just with the story. I aint buying anything until it has at least the features tiberian sun had.

I'm just hearing some details about the MP, seems interesting right, you can have up to a 5v5 player game. You earn points to spend on units/upgrades/support powers in singleplayer and MP. And the gigantic mech thing you see in the photos replaces you Conyard suppoesedly.
