It is a Hertog Jan. I want a beer. Do I have to go to the store?

It's sealed right?  Then yes.  If it's not sealed, then it's probably turned into vinegar.

Why would a beer turn into vinegar?

Step two isn't so much a step as much as a result of step one.

Why would a beer turn into vinegar?

If you let alcohol ferment way past it's drinking date, it turns into a substance not unlike vinegar (which technically comes from ethanol, but it's the same concept).  I learned this the hard way when I accidentally set a drink next to a bottle that had been sitting open in a garage for months, and didn't pay attention.  It tasted like paint thinner.

Yeesh. I'm glad I avoided a paint-thinnery fate.

Just cracked it, verdict is, still delicious beer.

Psh, two years old.  I once chewed gum from an unopened pack of 1991 Baseball Cards.

It was like chewing a pink, dusty rock.

This topic inspired me to do a search for the legal drinking age here. Apparently, I'm old enough but good luck hidding it around the house, or explaining to the cashier girl why a muslim is buying alcohol.

Stick a piece of white construction paper into your collar and pretend to be catholic.

What, do you have to wear an "I'm A Muslim" tag?  Just say you're Buddhist or something.

Besides, if you're of a mind to buy alcohol, you're obviously not too much Muslim.  That'll throw her Islam-dar off.
