He has had more than a thousand years of hardening, and he can swim really well, but I suppose he would be slowed down by the desert. The glacier wouldn't be a problem for him. I'll change it a bit. He'll cross the glacier and ocean and go across two desert tiles.

Assuming each tile averages 100 square miles, and taking into account that most of that movement is diagonally, leading to it being multiplied by the square root of 2 (simplified to 1.4 to make the numbers nicer), you traveled:

280 miles of desert, 140 miles of ocean (swum without rest), 280 miles of glacier, then ~200 of jungle

How did you get your gear across the water? Did you ditch the gear you needed to survive the Cado naso Jiar's artificial arctic? When did you pick up gear to survive crossing that much desert? What did you eat and drink during those travels? Is your dude weatherproof? Does he need to eat and drink?

pandarsenic, in botg4, FAR greater stretches of open ocean have been covered. Okay, the hero in question did not swim, but walk across the ocean, but he didn't get much sleep either


crossing the tile is not the question. the question is wether or not someone should suddenly double the basespeed of the game while crossing a fucking desert. remember that in a desert, you don't walk perfect birdline, you have to adapt to the dunes, which can easily triple the distance. to that, add how much strain it would be to carry several barrels of water, without having a camel

which, btw, is very bad RP

he might be a hardened badass, and might be able to do such things when forced, but seriously, one has to be either chased by an army or be a complete idiot to try and cross the desert on foot, without even a carrier animal for supplies. not to mention, with no guide
