Actually I had a book of random facts that I lost at one point.

But it is saying that hitting a Diamond with a hammer to prove it is real is somewhat of a myth.

The Diamond CAN survive a Hammer hit that much is true, but just because a diamond breaks doesn't mean it is fake.

Also most fake Diamonds are Somewhat real anyhow (They are usually partially fake) so you could break your hammer on it and still not find out if it was fake.

There are no "fake" diamonds other than the kind made of glass, there are, however, ARTIFICIAL diamonds, but they still both a) exist, and b) are diamonds.

Do you know how diamond experts tell apart real diamonds from artificially grown ones?

The artificially grown ones are literally, too perfect. Too perfectly cut.

So by giving your future fiance an artificial diamond ring that costs a fraction of the price of a real diamond... You're giving her a MUCH better diamond.

If only she could understand the true value of a diamond. It's not all about bragging rights.

"Girl did you see the diamond he gave me?! Oh I am so going to say yes!"

Just get her a diamond studded axe... So she may chop your balls off figuratively and literally.

Hmm.. she seems to be way more obsessed with titanium than I expected, but what true dwarf engineer wouldn't enjoy durable metal? But I'll probably go with white gold + amethyst, or pink sapphire.

Get a titanium coating on a lesser metal.
That way, it still has the look and feel of titanium, with the removability of, say, copper.

This is a masterfully crafted rose gold ring. It is studded with amethyst. It is studded with pink sapphire. It has bands of titanium on it. It menaces with spikes

also, you should try to have the amethyst and sapphire arranged in a way that it looks like an openning flower.

Unless A) you don't have the money for it or B) she will think that that's too cheesy

The question is, "is there a real life equivalent of adamantine?"

Probably diamonds.

Reading the wiki it sounds like it would be some weird alloy of a very strong metal and diamonds.

On the Contrary there are Fake Diamonds made out of Glass and Real Diamonds.
