Yeah but the problem is becoming successful in Second life is like selling your Soul.

It is effectively ripping people off to turn a profit because they are too stupid to play something else. (Or they are simply so rich they couldn't care less)

Not very different from paying for digital art, IMO.

At least you're not paying US$500 for the picture of a Hi-Fi Stereo. Like some people in Japan do.

  • Sometimes you have to step back to appreciate art.

there are some clients that even let you circumvent that.

They're patching that, sadly.

Well, anyway, no point in discussing the official servers, unless someone wants to shell out a few hundred dollars to buy a parcel of land where to build a fortress.

I'm not sure how OSGrid works, it seems it's just the same as running OpenSim, except you sort of share your region with others (so your own pc becomes another server in the grid and you get your stuff stored in your comp).

So the idea is that, hosting it, like we would host a session of Team Fortress or an Ultima Online shard, would be much cheaper. Free, even. Except for the poor sod that hosts it, haha :D say bye to your bandwidth!

Just kidding.
