Two things:

1: What is the colour of a fisherdwarf?

2: Battle results: Can leave blood!

Fisherdwarves are blue according too the January '94 issue of TACTICUS MOUNTLY-ICUS, although a less super-inteligent shade of blue than the scientist.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

You could try looking for some old TACTICUS books at your local D&D type games store, or I've heard that some libaries have them.

It would appear that while charging, my adventurer accidently his himself in the groin with the handle of his sword as stated in the supplement book "TACTICUS: Dwarven Charges and UnExpected Player Forgetfulness".

However, he has now recovered. The presence of carp requires me to make a roll of 15d6 with a score of 15 or more meaning he will require a drink whenever he next enters combat (as stated in Pantsheim, Section 6: Dwarven Arse-headedness).

*rolls dice*

Well, what do you know.... I got more than 15.

Well, since I may as well get it over with my dwarf charges at the nearby kobold and hits (rolls dice) the face! ...for (rolls dice)...no damage. Damn.

However, size does mean my adventurer sends the kobold flying down the passageway to the feet of the collossus, at which point my adventurer, being a True Dwarf, goes to get a drink of water.

Tacticus:
Attempt to kill everyone else, or yourself.
Rules are to be cited (made up) as play continues.
No new rule my violate a rule already stated, loopholes are fine.
Try not to move right after yourself so it looks like we're taking turns to outsiders.

Also, no meta-gaming(In this context, obviously creating your own rule. Such as "If player1 has exactly {long list of current units} on {today's date} and their name is {player1's name} then they win the game automatically")

It is advised to pretend at least partial comprehension of what is going on as if there really were massive rulebooks.

Also, all softcover rulebooks are hereby banned, though they will be accepted if you insist, but it is preferred if you quickly create a solid cover for it.
An exception is where it originally had a cover, but the cover was lost or damaged.

Also, Granitecover is prefered over plain hardcover, as it makes it less likely that your spare books are damaged in an after-game tantrum. Also for easy elimination of any unwanted elf intruders.

Curses, new rules limiting my choice of rules, now I have to use my great grand father's TACTICUS for Every Scottsmen.
I add my Dwarven Swordsmen to the play area from the south.
He promply falls asleep.

It's also appreciated if you update the map so I don't have to. Oh, the Elf finally mines the HFS.

what the hell... I swear you guys must be making this up on the spot... Please, explain or direct me to a post in which I can learn the rules of Tacticus.

Well, to define the rules of TACTICUS is a blasphemy in and of itself, but some of the
important things to remember are these:

The goals of TACTICUS have never truly been defined, though many have tried. Grand Saol Gompar of TACTICUS, the famous
Rev. Tinkle Blueberry, normally attempted, during the many games he took part in, to end all life as
we know it by the summoning of a lovecraftian horror in accordance with section 435 subsection 12, clause b. ii, or the
'sodding great tentacles' clause, and at the same time endeavored to make an extremely noteworthy cup of tea. Whilst the
last goal might seem strange, it is important to remember that after the Pantshelm revision of '92, tea is considered an
explosive weapon, as once mixed with the appropriate amount of milk and sugar it explodes with great force, and also that
tea is extremely tasty. This is also the reason that old ladies over the age of 60 refuse to play with the revised '92
edition, but that is neither here nor there.

An important part of TACTICUS, as we all know, is the creation of rules. The creation of rules is an integral and extremely
unstable part of TACTICUS, as it began in 1067 at the creation of the game and sort of snowballed from there. Rules can be,
and are, created at any time, including just now. Rule can, and certainly will, appear at any time and at any place
including regular space, sub space, above space, beside space, dimensions 1 right through to 834 - which, interestingly, is
the amount of TACTICUS players that can dance on the head of a pin - including the mysterious dimension W, and can appear in
z space, x space, y space, why space, t space, golf space, alpha space, orange space and, on several occasions, inside
the blouses of a number different women throughout history although they only seem to appear in the blouses of British women
over the age of 30 living in Africa, whose father's first name is William. Nobody knows why this is, but inquiries are
continuing.

Rules, once made, cannot be unmade or contradicted, lest everything collapse in on itself twice, possibly for emphasis.
Thus, the cataloging of rules has been the job of many through history. It is not an enviable job, as it is not uncommon
for the person in question to go mad before the age of 40. This is why people with this all important task are trained
in a Buddhist monastery from the age of three, practicing every moment of the day and sleeping upside down on the rafters at
night, which apparently helps them think. It is important that you familiarize yourself with every law before attempting
a game of TACTICUS but it is not vital. In lieu of doing so, you must simply remember not to contradict the other players
because considering the constant stream of new laws coming in from every conceivable dimension and space, and not least of
all women's blouses, it is not an uncommon thing for a player to go mad in an attempt to remember every rule. However, a
far more common thing, when faced with the many laws of TACTICUS, is to become extremely paranoid about everything,
although this has not happened to me and I wish you would stop saying it has. I'd also appreciate it if you stopped making
asides about my mother behind my back you smug bastard.

Aha! In playing more than 5 carp in a brook of that size in such close proximity to a megabeast, according to the 8th revised edition of TACTICUS For Gentlemen subset of the current ruleset, in favor of keeping a balance between the megabeasts, another must be special summoned to the map. Now, to determine the megabeast in a fair and gentlemanly manner, a six sided die must be rolled to determine the megabeast.
*Rolls a six*
EGAD! This means a Dragon may be special summoned. I haven't seen a roll like this in ages. However, due to the summon type, the Dragon must be of a rather docile nature for a number of turns for fairness's sake.

A Dragon appears near the river. It is sleepy and calm, not at all infuriated by those pesky, smelly dwarves across the river.

Unfortunately, this cannot last. As dictated by the obligatory dragon pissedoffedness rule, the dragon must now atomize something. Hop to it, old chap.

a great many words

I would like to congratulate you, sir, on such a concise explanation of the subtle nuances of Tacticus. A less intelligent man would no doubt of rambled but you made sure to keep both clear and relevent. (Especially with the bit about women's blouses).
