I'd like to request the ability to not use valuable coffin-space on pets that's desperately needed to keep up with the trapper, strange mood, and possession populations. Bury the damn dog in the back yard like everyone else.

Can't agree more. My population dropped from 80 to 40 when I ran out of food and 6 nobles and a dragon showed up. The last thing I need is people putting their pets into precious coffin space D:

You know, it's strange, I just realized I've never actually buried a dwarf. I guess on more dangerous maps it's more important, but most of my deaths have been behind locked doors, and I find it's easier just to wait for them to rot away where no one can see them and get depressed.

Why would you do this? Especially without making a comment saying you want that feature too, of course asking for a feature that is already in the game would be stupid.

You do know there's an option in the init to have it default to pets not being buried in coffins (effectively reversing the coffin use switch), right? Or are you asking for something else?

(Specifically, it's in the init.txt in the init folder, it's this line:

Change this to YES to disallow pets from coffin burial as the default option.
