You dont run away from mothrakk! you wait til it starts to drop stuff, and then sprint in the direction it came from!

this way, you sometimes dont get hit even a single time, plus when the thing tries to turn around theres a lot of bomb-dropping downtime....

Running away is more trouble than it's worth.
So everyone killed mothrakk on foot?  I didn't even get out the car...

It's way WAY easier on foot. Which kind of bugs me.

Hell, in the sand flats, I was always fighting the enemy cars with a car (of course) and having a tough time. Then once my car rolled over and I had to get out, so I shot at their cars with my pistol and it was suddenly like "AHAHAHHA, KNEEL BEFORE OZYMANDIAS, KING OF KINGS, GOD OF CAVES, AND POWERFUL SORCEROR!"

Which strikes me as strangely unbalanced. I wonder sometimes why they put cars in the game instead of taking them out (originally it was intended that cars would be a much larger feature) and replacing them with trains or something. Trains would be pretty cool.

I hid under a carport-like thing on the northern side of the map like the coward I am. Rowland + a class mod that regenerates ammo quicker than I can fire it is unstoppable.

That's how I beat every boss up to and including the big bad. Find a place where he can't touch me but I can hit him.

If their cars come into contact with you, you will die immediately, no second wind. That's why I never go around on foot in Salt flats and Dahl headlands.

That makes them only slightly deadlier then your average badass who who is nearly impossible to kill in second wind. They are FAR less durable though, my solution to the car boss was to get out and empty my SMG at him and watch him explode after 20 or so bullets. Never even got close.

Is this game still fun once you get to level fifty?  I mean, it can't be much of an FPS if it isn't right?

The game has 2 playthroughs like Diablo... PT1 will take you to about level 34, and level 50 during PT2.

Once you finish PT2, you can load PT2 again, and everything will level up to between 48 and 52.

With 4 players, there're some pretty insane and fun area in PT2 to fight (monsters keep poping up all around you, very chaotic). It will eventually grow old, of course, but how long that will be depends on the player.

That's why you spend your second wind trying to find weakling minions to headshot. NEVER get rid of all the minions first.

My biggest problem with borderland was it's difficulty. Namely, it's WAY to easy. I'm not extra good at FPSes or anything, I just like to think I'm somewhat apt when it comes to tactics. (Funny enough, you can even employ tactical gameplay in borderlands in some maps  :o )

So basically you try to counter the lacking difficulty by advancing faster in the storyline. Problem is... it never gets hard enough until you hit a brickwall. Was it 3 or 4 levels difference? RPG effect kicks in and you cant even touch your enemy. I'm serious, youre chewing away 1hp chunks from a 1500 hp enemy (who happened to bring 5 buddies), and they can one-hit kill you.. There is no friggin sliding scale, its just too easy and suddenly it's impossible.

Now... once you hit lvl50 and complete the storyline the second time... the game gets a nice boost with bosses, subbosses and whatnot. Its a whole lot better and makes you play a bit more careful again. Problem is: 1) It's still too easy. 2) You are probably bored right out of your friggin mind by then.

Borderland needs a roguelike mode :P Random generated dungeon and enemies, always getting harder, item identification, proper damage calculation (and not just level based dmg reduction...) and permadeath - tadaaa - interesting for YEARS.  ;D

At any rate, I'm glad I didnt buy Borderlands, and my initial statement I'll buy it when it'll cost 30 bucks - well, make that ten.

That being said: it was great fun for 2 weeks  ;D

So everyone killed mothrakk on foot?  I didn't even get out the car...
Both works just fine. My point was... charging into the direction mothrakk came from is mostly easier and more effective than dodging the bombs in any other direction, plus it gives you more carefree shooting time. Well.. dont charge in when you're too far away to be actually able to dive through under him without being hit :D but usually, it's the best option.

And by the by... killing anything doesnt count until you do it in playthrough 2.5  :D
