(ignoring the quirks of Borderlands such as shotgun style rocket launchers and rocket launching shotguns, which are not only rareish but also mostly uselessish, except for the helix launchers)

And just for the record: I especially HATE the boomstick.

The only person putting it to good use is Baron Flynt. And if you just keep a bit of space and situational awareness, he can stick that boomstick up his rear end, too.

This game is sweet. I've been playing as Mordecai and blazing thru most enemies. Seriously, this guy simply beats everything better than the other classes I started (the stupid Tank can't even get past that guy that stole the Catch a Ride piece at the beginning).

I'm already at the Salt Flats, so far the best weapon I got was this.

I found it at a weapon machine, best purchase I ever made. Got it quite some time before Old Haven (note it's only level 22!), but it was freakin' expensive, set me back to about half my money back then, easily 200k or so (I'm rolling in cash now anyway).

Oh man... nothing more satisfying than headshotting every Lance guy and killing them in one shot and watching them melt. This thing has a tiny crosshair without aiming, can put a bullet on any enemy's head at 50 meters or so, and with the iron sights I can hit anything at quite some distance, sort of like the elephant rifle.

No it's not. Here's why:

1) It's a level 48 weapon (how does it compare to other level 48 weapons, damagewise?)
2) It's only got 2 shots
3) It's not as accurate
4) Mine's got almost twice the RoF.

I'm with Sergius on that one.

My Mordecai is close to his level and that gun would rape every enemy where I am for at least a week :D

Don't forget the fire rate is higher... The overall DPS might be higher.

I've found level fifty weapons that deal less damage, to be honest. It's the highest damage revolver I've ever found. The only things that deal more are rocket launchers and some shotguns. Why is it better?

Level cap is fifty. Level Fifty Crimson Lance enemies die in two hits maximum.

Well it's hard for me to tell how much damage they can actually take from my gun, since, I keep getting one-hit criticals on them pretty much all the time, heheh...

Usually I only miss when they hit me and mess with my aim. I just finished the Enclave area with pretty much only that revolver... even bosses are dead meat when I hit them with that baby.

Yeah, once you get that revolver, basically you can just shoot once and wait for them to dissolve, even relatively powerful ones.

They might teleport, but it's not really guaranteed they bypass cover, right?
They travel in a straight line to where you were aiming.
They will hit anything in the way.

I'm thinking if an enemy is there and he ducks down after you press G, it stops there anyway, even though there's nothing blocking it anymore, and falls down to the ground before exploding, as I had that happen by pure chance once..  Great fun when his body came flying up and over the aforementioned cover.

I completed game with Lily, with no orange items, thankfully she can never die since I maxed phasewalk HP regenertion(other guys skills look just useless in comparsion), so i just shotgunned everyone in the face till last boss.

Than i started Mordecai they gave me ~600dmg alien rifle at fyrestone, then i bought this for like 25k at first vending machine i ran into at dahl headland:

Somehow this things completely removed all the challange from the game.

Mordecai just damn lucky.

Well, at some point in the Rust Commons you're going to have to find a better gun. I stopped using mine at the second playthru (I'm never EVER selling it tho :D I'll give it to one of my other chars using the LAN option or something), but it was still pretty awesome even in the final boss battle.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think I bought mine at a vendor at some point during Rust Commons West before going to any of the neighboring mission areas.

Right now I'm using a revolver that fires like a shotgun (7 x 70 or something like that) and a SWEET flame sniper rifle with a ridiculously huge splash damage area. It does something like 900 points :P. And pretty accurate too. I'll post the stats when I get home.

I still have my Alien machinegun from the previous playthru. Those guns are a bit annoying to recharge, and it's a bit silly that you only get these like in the last 2 areas in the game.

I beg to differ.
I got one in Fyrestone, one in Krom's Canyon...

Which playthrough?
In the first one, I got my first one in the Lance level right before the aliens (where you have to rescue the crazy professor woman), and the last one in the canyon area right before the final room.
