OH GOD TODAY I FOUND AN AWESOME SNIPER.

Something something Liquid Sniper.

199 damage.
x4 chance of dealing elemental (fire) damage.
3.0x weapon zoom.
+12 clip size.
And Chance to Cause Explosions.

And I haven't reach level 20 yet.

The x4 isnt the chance for it to trigger its effect. Its a multiplier on the base damage of the gun when it DOES trigger.  The text saying, "High chance for elemental effect" or "Very high chance for elemental effect" is what affects when it triggers. Elemental weapons always deal that type of damage, but dont always trigger thier effects. Shock, Corrosive, and Fire all deal DoT damage when it triggers, and explosive deals a bigger AoE damage, but all at once.  Also, explosive is the only "element" that has no resistances ingame (atleast for now).

So it's even better than I thought it was.

Awesome.

Also, is it weird that I find it easier to kill a car with a shotgun rather than a rocket launcher?
The only rocket launcher I'm even remotely able to hit outriders with, is the one mounted on scooter's rides - but only at very close distance and with auto lock on.

So short answer: no, you're not the only one.

My favourite type of weapon in the game are probably masher revolvers. But boy, they seem to be awfully rare, or is it just my luck?

Well - what did you expect? It is a RPG, so RPG and shotgun are the same weapons, only with different desings (they both even have AOE dammage). I remember this bothered me much more in civ games. Horde of barbars with bows destroying some tanks ... yeah

Shotgun AoE is not the same as launcher AoE, I'm almost sure.

If you shoot the ground next to an enemy with a shotgun, he won't take damage. Do it with a rocket, he will.

One has bullet spread the other one has AoE (and bullet spread in some cases, too).
edit: well, explosive shotguns have AoE, but that doesnt do that much.

Yes, but those are not such big differences. AoE vs bullet spread. AoE is slighty better but again it depends on other properties of the gun.

I'm just sayin that "shotgun and rocketlauncher are the same weapons" isnt true, I'm not even arguing about what is "better".

edit: And there is a biiig difference between bullet spread and AoE. (ignoring the quirks of Borderlands such as shotgun style rocket launchers and rocket launching shotguns, which are not only rareish but also mostly uselessish, except for the helix launchers)

You just cannot shoot somebody that is taking cover with a shotgun, even if theres a wall behind them. Just for those occasions I tend to keep a rocket launcher. Because they are not always in throwing range of grenades.

Transfusion AND Longbow?
That can happen?

Just aim for a body shot with your gun but throw a grenade instead.  Usually works for me.

I'd say yes - when it comes to grenades, transfusion counts as damage type, doesnt it? coming to think of it... I never saw anything but plain transfusion.

They might teleport, but it's not really guaranteed they bypass cover, right?

Soooooo.... aiming in a direct line, doesnt that kind of defy the point of grenades? I mean, we're trying to lob those things over and behind the cover of the bad guys, dont we?

Actually, I even dont use proximity mines when I'm solo. In a team, one guy should have some, but the rest need lobbable nades. (because it can take forever and then some til the miney nades splode if the target doesnt move)

I found a shotgun that shoots rockets. How's that for a monkey wrench in the Spread Vs. AoE debate?

Maybe I should have rephrased that. I found a shotgun that shoots rockets like a shotgun shoots bullets. With a huge spread, all at once.
