It's a little bit open world but not really. It's more like Hellgate London than anything else.

Hey Guys do you know how to open the ports on your computer in order to get Boarderlands to work?

Depends on your router. Open up your browser and in the address bar type in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 and that should bring you to a page where you have to log in. If you havent set it before generally login/pass is login: admin pass:(blank). If that doesnt work consult your manual. Afterwards you will have to poke around and look for port forwarding in the options. Once you find it, you need to know what computer on your network you are. IE 192.168.1.(2,3,4,etc...) and find the ports borderlands uses, along with the protocol (probably tcp) and forward those ports for your ip, and any other computers ip (ON THE NETWORK) that you want to play it on.

More info here:
http://portforward.com/

Hope that helps. :D

Not working it doesn't work... I think I settled on not only this not working

But Gamespy to be a horrible horrible program.

I had the same problem with Freedom Force

Is there any way to TELL if the ports are open without going through this process?

Worse yet... my Router apperantly doesn't exist...

I edited after you replied btw, try the second one also. I have encountered routers with both those addresses before.

Also, if neither of those work. Go to Start->run, type "cmd". Then type "ipconfig" in the box that pops up. Look for where it says "Default Gateway". That is your router.

I did everything I could do... the Port Forward detector says it SHOULD work

Final Verdict... It won't work! Period

Alright... It works... it just won't work for my friends likely because they also have to open their ports.

Final Final Verdict: I hate you gamespy arcade!
