Got the game on PS3 on release, it was everything I expected it to be. Unlike Uncharted 2, where I got stuck in a stair in the first 10 minutes.

I somehow doubt the the PC version of Borderlands will suck even with the delay, given the lvl of fun in the PS3 version. Games are getting better at utilizing the "loot center" of the brain.

Thats the best part of the brain!

Its also good to hear that the game does infact kick ass. :D

I just preordered the PC version over Steam since they were offering it for 10% off.
If any of you Bay12/DFC people are going to (or already did) get it through Steam as well, hit me up with a Steam friend request at jaybud4

Steam preload is available since yesterday, so yeah. The game was pretty much already ready.

Of course, nobody sane thinks games are released the minute their finished traditionally though. It takes weeks to print a game at the factory, and they restrict the steam version from being released so that some people don't have the game before others (in theory). The actual work on the game was done weeks ago, it's just the printing and testing that happens in the last few weeks.

Hummhumm... I try not to buy PC games at least until a few months after release, unless I REALLY cant wait. Actually I cant even remember when this happened the last time.

I dont know what happened in the last years, but it seems QC gradually got replaced by customers...

Actually that isnt really a bad thing, because since almost everybody is online these days, you're bound to catch a lot more flaws that way. Of course the average gamer doesnt know how to properly report software bugs (heck, I learned this at school, and even I cant do it properly...) but lets just ignore that for a moment.

What really gets me, however, is how the companies tend to be real dicks about it. There was no official statement/apology whatever. I mean, c'mon how hard is it? You explain it to people, ask them nicely, because there are so many advantages of doing that way. And as a little reward you give first week/two weeks/whatever timeframe buyers and preordering people a nice little cut. Ida know 10%, 20% whatever.

But hey, that would have defeated the whole purpose of "outsourcing" most of the QC department!

Sorry for rant, just sayin, dont buy games right away, if you can help it. Chances are, the first patch is gonna screw over your savefiles anyway  ;D

Uh, you DO realize that that is just as likely to happen with ANY patch, right?  Not just the first?

You should.
Make sure you get it for the PC through Steam so you can join my ad-hoc group  ;D

If you are thinking of getting this game, THEN DO IT ALREADY! it's not just "LOOT!!1" it is a very good rpg in its own right and offers the perfect blend of shooter and rpg (In other words FPS with the boosting effects of rpgs :D)

P.S. keep an eye out for a gun called ***(<random letters and numbers) Red Sting. its and awesome smg that fire so fast that not even sledge can take you down (and i killed him at lvl 17 lol)

FPS- Fun to shoot a shotgun into an aliens waiting mouth for a "CRITICAL!". And brains.

RPG wise, I would consider it a fail. Not enough active skills- you're in the odd position of having ONE active skill, and modifying only it, as well as your character's passive skills. Meh... I guess it DOES make a difference. But I consider it more of an obsessive side diversion from all the shooting and looting.

From a loot standpoint, definitely a win though :D Orange loot = great. Got my first one, it's almost worth making a character around. Essentially a fast-action shotgun with a speedloader that regenerates slugs.

I swallowed my tightfisted nature and preordered it.

My profile name is Cthulhu.  Who else has it, so we can get a game going when it comes out?
