I don't know, but 3 sec cooldown Bloodwing with the proper setup is OP. Throw like a grenade, then wait. Then throw a bit more. Rinse, repeat.

Also, I've never managed to find a pearlescent in the armory after General Knoxx, only a few in Craw's lair. How low are the chances to find a pearlescent in the armory?

From what I'm reading off the wiki, it seems like your best bet is to farm Craw or the various other things that drop them(Badass Bruisers/Engineers, Drifters or Lance Pyros). It says they're rare to be in Crimson Lance Chests(the ones in the Armoury), so I'd guess that's sub-5% chance. Though, abusing glitches to farm the Armoury as much as you like probably works too.

Fixed. I built Brick like the biggest freakin' tank (highest shields I could find, maxing out the health, Titan class mod). Berserk was like a free megaheal. Nearly dead? RAAAAAAAURGH BRICK SO MAD HE JUST RUN IN TINY CIRCLES.....aaaah, that feels better.

Add to that some health regen thru skills, and I basically can count on one hand the number of times I actually died up through the end of the main arc. I wound up invoking it 3 or 4 times when fighting <REDACTED>, the last time it was almost down, so I ran up and

Pearlescents: I spent a couple weeks doing 5 or 6 glitched armory runs a night. Never found anything. Played 1 public game where guys were using hacked weapons to kill craw; dozens on the ground.

Cheaters prosper here.

Be cautious and remember to backup your characters first... Borderland's engine does not have a focus on security and data integrity; playing with cheaters can get your saves corrupted permanently, even if you have not personally used the cheats.

Gonna restart this game soon, since I bought all DLCs cheap in a Steam sale.

First time I played with Hunter. Everyone tells me Hunter is underpowered. Is that true? I hated Brick since rocket launchers are stupid and his Berserkiness just tends to get you killed. When I tried using Siren her power duration was TOO short and couldn't be used often enough, and IIRC she wasn't all that great with standard weapons.

Guess I'll go with the Soldier dude.

All characters are weak at first; they all need some skill points invested to shine.

Hunter is definitely not underpowered. His skills make him good with pistols and sniper rifles. Sniper rifles are hard to start with, since you have such a tiny ammo capacity. Go with pistols first, respec later if you want to go sniper. He has a skill to allow his bullets to ignore shield completely - it's a slaughter for some enemies types.

Later on you will find a type of pistol called Masher - it's in fact a shotgun in your hand. If you go with the Gun Crazy tree it'd be really powerful.

Bloodwing is not good indoors due to his bird brain path-finding; and you may not want to invest too much in multiple hit, because you want it to return ASAP to heal you.

As RedKing said, Brick's designed to abuse second wind. He has skills that lengthens the duration and increase healing rate. You'd charge in, do a lot of damage, get second wind, and go again. You are right about rocket launchers tho. Those called Triple Helix has much better accuracy, so try them out when you get one - aim at the ground near enemies, not the enemies themselves.

Lilith is really powerful with SMGs. At first you may run out of ammo quite fast, so pack some other weapon types to backup. Early on you can only use Phasewalk as a means of escape; later on you can use it offensively.

Roland is good with shotguns and combat rifles. He can end up with shotguns that can double as sniper rifles, or shoot endless streams of lead with combat rifles. Don't count on the turret to do the killing for you - it won't be enough. Instead use the turret to distract, heal and restock ammo.

The good thing is respec is dirt cheap... so do it often to experiment. You can also use the fan site's skill calculator (the one on official site isn't updated for the DLCs):
http://87bazillion.com/skillcalculator/

Also note that you gain weapon proficiency as you kill; if you focus on a single weapon type it will be more powerful than other weapons with similar stats.

Roland is good with anything with more then 10 bullets in it. SMG's can become incredibly overpowered, especially ones with a decent fire rate and a sizeable mag.

16 firerate, 120 accuracy, 254 dmg, 125 mag and a 4x scope. Without skills, it's around 32 firerate, 140 accuracy, 175 mag. With skills active, including kill ones, it's 64 firerate, 250 mag, and 350 dmg.
Put on the fact I have an ammo regen mod, (+20 regen) the second I kill someone, I literally shit out bullets. But eh, I might have just gotten lucky with the gun.

Played through Borderlands for the first time solo with berserker, really fun.  It sounds like co-op is where the real fun is at that though.

I've been playing this recently, and I'm a bit annoyed by how erratic the difficulty seems. When entering a new area it's okay at first, then I level and I can't get anywhere because I'd need more bullets than I carry. I find a new, good weapon and everything's fine until I level again, and then it's too easy.

Yeah, weapon balance is especially a problem because of the randomized nature of it. I've had green weapons that were better than purple weapons of the same level. Some games, Bone Shredder is a joke. Others, it turns you into a one-man fountain of lead.

That's supposedly one of the things they're going to address in the sequel.
