Jesus revolver Mord characters. A Defiler will trivialize most armored enemies in the game, and two-shot revolvers of any other make will deal with anything else. In my Roland runs I had to break out a Defiler whenever a boss would give me beef for using a shotgun because it would pretty much two-shot them.

Also, Eridian guns aren't fit to throw away. </haughty>
I like them. The shotgun doesn't have enough shots, though.

Also, a while back I found a six-shot caustic shotgun of some sort that utterly violated Crimson Lance units. It was extra effective against armor, apparently. Eventually sold it when I found that electrical Eridian shotgun. I have a thing for two-shot shotguns; I used Sledge's shotgun from the time I got it up to the time I got to New Haven.
But wait, you just reached New Haven and you've already fought Crimson Lance? I thought they only show up in quests you get from New Haven.
Um, no? I played through the end of the(non-dlc) game.

...Roland has one big advantage over the others. If he can kill someone, he turns into a bullet storm. He begins to heal, shields regen, and he begins to spew bullets into everything. Grab an SMG or a 40 round shotgun and watch the crits fly.

PS: Use an ammo regen mod.

We should get some B12 multiplay going sometime.

That was the problem I had with them. Even with skill in Eridian weapons I never found one that could kill a target before it ran dry and I had to switch to regular ballistics. Apparently Lilith can be decent with them but her bonuses with SMG's and stealth face-punching made them redundant at best. The special Eridians might be different, but I spent hours chest farming in Knoxx and never saw a single one. I think the developers wanted them to be rare and special, but everything on Pandora literally shits ammo, so their single bonus wasn't worth the investment babysitting the recharge timer.

That said, if you haven't played shotgun-specced Roland with an elemental-mod carnage shotgun, you're all missing out. Actually, Roland in general is ridiculous, though I did enjoy watching Bloodwing claw piles of money out of enemies. That was good times.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

i did the game with Lilith as well.
i was mosty MGs and SMGs, raid fire to the head was the best way to kill Crimson Lance heavys.

Crawmerax. Soldiers cannot kill him. A lvl 66, and a lvl 64 just get destroyed by him, on the first playthrough. Bullets hurt nothing, despite doing over 6k a round with my shotty on normal stuff. How do I kill this bastard?

The only way to damage him is via the seven or so critical hit areas. Take all of them out and he's dead.

I found good use for the Eridian shottie with Lillith, pop out of phase with emp to kill shields right in someones face, blow said face apart.

My Lillith has never touched a gun other than SMGs and Eridian stuff, and yeah, she is freaking overpowered.  I didnt know there was an actual hard boss in the normal game, ill have to go finish Knox.

I love me some jumping around with 2-shot revolvers and sniper rifles. It makes the game feel like a Wild-West game.

Man, you guys make we want to dig around and find my old save file.

Here's the guns I'm using at the start of the Knoxx DLC.

I've used the sniper to oneshot Crimson Lance units from before I entered the DLC.
Not sure about the new ones, though.
EDIT:
The sniper takes them out in two headshots now.

Also, I found a bunch of much better guns.

Sniper's the only worthwhile weapon there; Eridian weapons suck.

Also, Revolver Mord is an awesome guy, especially with that double bullets proc skill (assuming you're using a 2 ammo capacity masher). I'm only able to solo Craw when I use that glitch where Craw cannot see you if you get there fast enough. Then I use an Orion to take care of its back, switching to a different class mod to replenish my sniper ammo.

Takes me about 20 minutes, give or take, to kill Craw. That guy is impossible to kill legitimately using the Hunter.

My Roland uses combat rifles (found several great ones), and I tested with various builds, and found that ammo regen mod isn't necessary (at least when you solo). Turret with max timer regen and a single point in the ammo restock is sufficient to make you never run out of ammo, even when you are pouring out streams of lead all the time.

I think I am going to dust off my save. I never finished the game, got about 20 hours into it though with Roland. I wish I could play the other classes without regrinding through all that content.

If you're feeling a slight bit cheaty, you could just use a save editor and switch your class, while giving yourself the same amount of skill points you have on your current char.
