I took on Zombie Island after raiding Fort Knoxx; so I was at a rather significant level, and had a bullet hose with it's ammo regen counterpart. What I've been doing lately has been raiding the bases in the Knoxx Pack and fishing some (dark) oranges and pearlescant hunting (
I'm at 48-52 right now Correction: Level 47, closing in on 48), and have been optimizing my inventory. So far, in my bank at The Underdome, I have all kinds of weapons with a ammo-regen gun counterpart, and I've been fishing overkill guns (non-elemental) and elemental guns with at least 3x (elemental or # rockets launched) modifiers and decent stats. I think I won't be having much problem with future Underdome matches (since I beat the regular 5 round matches, and am now to the 15 round matches).
What I am looking for are either pearls and/or overkill snipers or something to be able to take on Crawmerax at a low enough level. Yes, I am crazy enough to take that bug on at level 48-52.
EDIT:
Just lately now, I have a fast firing bad dog (Speedy impact shotgun (108x7 with a good zoom and 20 shots per reload), and a rare Terrible Defender shotgun that shoots rockets (Defender = ammo regen) and allows 6 shots per reload. I also have a few pistols that are essentially machine guns and one of them regens ammo, and an SMG that has a heavy punch. And re-looking, I'm still at level 47. Still haven't begun playthrough 2 yet, and I recently acquired myself a much much much improved scavenger class mod with +2 to rare items collecting.
Always a free agent for multiplayer raids if you want cool stuff rated for level 30-40 in playthrough 1. Speaking of cool stuff, I have yet to find an adequate replacement to my Terrible Matador (188 x12 (2256 combined) damage, 2 shot, and decent accuracy and a decent fire rate. This is the weapon that renders all playthrough 1 bosses a joke, even the Claptraps' versions, and gives me a fighting chance in playthrough 1. My only weapon that even caught Crawmerax's attention when hit (albeit, really really weak hit). I think I found this gun, I forgot where; but I know there's better. This is a blue class gun, and is for lower levels than my current.).
Not seen: x12 damage modifier
2256 total concentrated damage
Always equipped unless found a better.
Regarding playthrough 2, I can always ask for a little assistance to buzz past the introduction missions. Then again, with my optimized equipment, I shouldn't worry as much. Mad Moxxi's extended runs, I can always use alot of help. 5 rounds was pretty bad, this can get rough, even with my skills and rather broken equipment.
A real help for getting rare crap. (Best for pearlescants, unless I can find one with +4 rare finds). Always equipped.
(Apparently unseen: +100% critical damage (F*** yeah!!!)
Non-stop rockets at a decent rate. Incoming ammo and outgoing rockets.
The reload speed was what sold it for me above the other Carnages I had (400-500 dmg; one of them with a +100% melee mod (which seems pointless for the rocket gun). I think being able to regenerate ammo while being a fun and cool gun while at it also helps.)
(Unseen: x9 damage modifier; total concentrated: 963 per shot)
Yeah... A nice way to clean out a room or a horde wave with little effort. (41.5% as powerful as the Terrible Matador I always use.)
This is why it actually can compete against my Terrible Matador. I think this can help make Moxxi easier to deal with at more advanced levels (or marathons). I find one with the Matador's strength per shot, then I can be unstoppable.
EDIT EDIT:
To learn more of my equipment stats (where obscured), I'm using editors to extract more info and apply them to. I have no intent to use any editors
here beyond collecting info, and thinking up cool weapons.
EDIT EDIT EDIT:
I guess the prison general area was where I must've found my Matador; number looks rather consistent, although quite random.
Anyway, using an editor, I found the most ideal Terrible Matador that can still be legitimately found/bought.
Concentrated: 3120
It's alternate barrel allows for 3444 total damage (12 x 287) at the cost of becoming 11.7 accuracy. I prefer accuracy with mass damage.
2563 concentrated
And yes, I even added a carnage barrel to it before, and it was still legit.
Probably the most valuable treasure to ever be found. Nobody in their right mind would ever give such a thing away.
