I think I might remember reading about this in a Magazine some time ago.

All I remember is the fact that guns are patchworked from various parts, you can fight a giant hive creature, and you can fight This.

PCgamer had a special about it. They had a lot of fun - and tons of screenies. Guns are made up of certain part types, in a way that, the game can randomize via cycling through the list of parts for each part type.

There are four classes (and they aren't personalizible from what I can tell, it's like Diablo 2.), they all gain levels and aren't the traditional roles (completely  - they walk the line). You can co-op with friends, and go hunting and stuff, dungeon spelunking and stuff, and kill stuff. It's pretty much what hellgate should have been.

I believe it was three classes.

But I haven't checked for a while.

Are those the characters shown in the trailer?  Hot chick, and miscellaneous ugly guys?

OK let me see the changes for the characters.

1. They added a beefy guy.
2. They made Roland have a different skin color pigment.
3. Mordecai is exactly the same. Despite them wanking on about how much more badass he looks now.
4. Lilith has became much more human-like, breasts have been enlarged, and she essentially became miss fan-service.

So?  It's a small price to pay for a shooter without the generic gritty graphics that every shooter has now.

Yeah, as long as it's a really customizable rpg.

I don't mind the graphics.

Hell the damn thing could be in ASCII for all that I care.

It's not a roleplaying game.  It's a shooter with RPG elements.  What did the characters look like before?  The only thing I remember seeing before the art switch was a couple of nameless guys running around shooting other nameless guys.

I kinda liked the old style better.  This one seems like it's trying to be cartoonish, but whatever.  As long as the gameplay is good.

You're incorrect, there is a defined leveling system, with higher level enemies being more powerful. It has all the trappings of a rpg, but not what you would consider a rpg.
