Hmm.
I post to try to get a good Bay12 co-op going. I get a total of two people.
One of whom was unable to play the game at all until earlier today.
Luckily I know plenty of other people who could fill in the gaps. But I digress...
For the love of Armok, if you want this game to REALLY be fun, you
need players.
Add me on Steam (and/or Gamespy, heh) at jaybud4.
Do it. Seriously. Don't ignore me this time.
I can host just fine. The game runs a constant 60 FPS at maxed settings, with no crashes, and on top of that, (as far as I've tested/received feedback on) no lag, even if I'm hosting a full party.
No hoops, no Tunngle.
Really.
We add each other as Gamespy friends.
I start game.
I invite you to game.
We play.
Just straight up private
Borderlands action.
And I swear to you, there is plenty of
that when there's four people.
We can make this work.
Also, my current major complaint with the game is that it apparently is not stable for everybody (shocker, I know) and as such can throw major wrenches in any serious co-op playthrough, because the crashed player will lose all progress since the last save, which may or may not include quest completion. If a crashed player falls behind the host in quests, and they can't host, they have to do the quest in singleplayer to catch back up, while the rest of the party waits.
There's also no text chat in the pre-game lobby, and VOIP is enabled at all times once you hit multiplayer.
I hosted a server for fourteen of the previous thirty-four hours since launch, in which I had four players for 95% of the time. Think about it. That could be YOU. With four players, you get approximately four times the number of enemies, and you can just imagine what that entails. Seriously. I'm not writing this overly long post for my own benefit.
I could just ignore you all and get along fine with various other people I know. I'm trying to arrange awesome Bay12 gaming sessions, but only two people tried to take me up on it. Unfortunate. But wait, there's still time!
I've been writing this post for far too long. I will end with one simple statement, comprised of two sentences.
For the love of Armok, play the game with us! If you have it for the PC, add me on Steam and/or Gamespy at
jaybud4 RIGHT NOW.
(Please realize that this [nor any part of it in any misguided quote that will undoubtedly show up] was not written in anger, nor spite, nor whatever. I'm here to play Borderlands, not with your emotions. Hope to see you all on the battlefield soon.)
