Yeah, they've made a lot of progress with microsurgery in recent years. They've been able to reattach fingers and stuff for awhile, I suppose it was only a matter of time before they did it with entire arms. Using somebody else's arms too, for that matter.

I can't help but think of Liquid Ocelot in this guy's case.

Once we have working bionic limb technology I'm going to have a tragic encounter with a wheat thresher. 

We have the technology.  We can rebuild me.

Here's what we've got now.  I say wait 10 years and then go for it.

Woah hey now  . Just  to confirm that my eyes don't play tricks on me, the guy at the end of the video has two perfectly intact arms, right? Because it looks like he's carrying the third one on his shoulder witch gives him... well... a third arm. A THIRD ARM.

Doesn't that mean that, at one point, we could actually be able to screw these things on someones back to provide additional grabs? Naturally, controlling 2 normal arms in addition to artificial ones could prove difficult but then again we have things like these witch already worked back in 2004.

I'm pleased to see that I might actually become a proper Techpriest one day, studying computer science is only worth so much without the ability to simultaneously code and dual-wield coffee mugs with the two robot-arms attached to my back.

The whole idea is that, It's an arm that you simply attach and use your brain like another arm. But can you image if we attached them to toddlers, and raised a whole generation of 2 arm 2 roboarm people. It's like the exoskeletons they that can lift 200 lbs without breaking a gismo.

I can imagine it quite vividly. We would spend millions upon millions of dollars just to equip/train/support these people and when the time comes for them to fall into their roles as much needed and highly praised specialists they will all be like "No, I can't do it, I must resist you oppression and become an artist(/musician/philosopher/poet/...) as I always dreamed to do!"

Aaaaand that's why I want to get my own robotic arm, because I you want something done properly you will have to do it yourself.
