Ha! Watch and despair as all the limbs you can possibly hack off are reattached!

And this opens up the possibility of other things being attached. Hell, there was that lady with the face transplant a while ago. We could be made bettwe, stronger, more biological and squishy.

Live limbs are lame.

I want cybernetic limbs.

Once we have working bionic limb technology I'm going to have a tragic encounter with a wheat thresher.

We have the technology.  We can rebuild me.
Oh boy, human arms.

OH SHI- ROBO-arms. I can lift cars now!

Screw amputations, I want my brain to be removed and put into a huge, building-sized machine.

Some kind of Skynet thing, but not as smart and kind of a jerk.

Did anyone else notice that GlaDOS kind of looks like a human figure in some kind of bizarre bondage position?

Or more like an inverted Venus. Which works well with the symbolism of it all.

Yea, it's amazing what tech can already do isn't it?

Also, is it just me or does it look VERY much like Darth Vader's arm, or a Terminator? This is actually on the levels of the typical scifi, or at least mere millimetres from it.

well, limb reattachment has been done for a long time now.

Even corpse limb transplant is old. It was first done around ten years ago in France.

Well this is pretty cool, better if we could get some stem cell research to help out with this but with surgery alone this looks like a pretty good result.

Unfortunately certain major religions won't let it happen.

I dont know of any major religions opposing stem cell research. I do know of a couple which oppose embryonic stem cell experimentation in general, but dont oppose adult or iPS derived cell technology. Some I know dont even oppose ESC research.

I'm not a member of any of the cited religions/whatever, for the record. I personally have no problem whatsoever with ESC research.

No it didnt. The guy had it removed because he got tired of having to take immunosuppressants for a hand.

Pretty sure we've had a topic about that on the forums before, with a link to a blog with pictures of how GlaDOS would look if she were that bound human... A year ago.
