MINECRAFT: A Dwarfy Project
« on: July 23, 2009, 12:02:54 pm »

Hello, DF-compatriots!

If any of you want to contribute to something delightfully Armokian, come play Minecraft on the "Big Ass Mountain" server. I am under the alias Conman, constructing a massive underwater hotel.

The link is here: http://minecraft.net/play.jsp?server=838121fbe08505c5f55345e3a7144885

If I'm not there, then see what you can do to contribute, such as digging out mountains. Strike the earth!

CURRENT STATUS: OFFLINE. I will change this status depending on whether or not I am logged on, so as to help direct the project.

 Please, provide a link.

If the server can be more reliable than other provided servers and the link is in an easily locatable place like the OP, then we could make it our DF home.

I will fetch the link next time I am off, since I can't be logged into two computers at once... I am borrowing a computer to play Minecraft.

*SNAP*

We have an all-DF build server.  I was hosting it.  Nobody logged on in weeks.  So I turned it off.

The only reason I didn't log in anymore was due to the lack of action, and the difficulty in finding the link.

Bookmarks are for stuffing random Stumble Upon finds into.

But yes, if somebody could maintain an OP with all the links, i would be quite active on minecraft again.

 Damn you Company of Heroes!

Well, crud. I'm sorry, I'd have joined up if I had known. I actually got addicted to the game just this week.

Good god, none of you have lived 'till you play on the Great Tree server.

Seriously, that thing is a good thousand levels tall. It takes a good 30 seconds to fall to the bottom.

Now you know how the Dwarves feel.

Oh yes. Soon as mac compatibility gets fixed, I'm going to see about hosting a server with that much height in aquatic caves.

This thread convinced me to see what Minecraft even was, and it's really neat. A little dull, but very neat! I thought the purpose of the game was to dig down and down and down like in the game "Motherload", so I did that got confused when I hit rock bottom. Then I checked the wiki and saw that the whole game is just placing and destroying blocks.

Might check out again later.

What a horrible game, never had anything drain my time like that, except maybe DF.
It takes so long to make a good house, and than it crashes just at the moment I was finishing it.
EDIT: Damn you B12, I'm hooked on and making a castle or something with some people right now.
