Has anyone else had problems with their mouse freezing up?

I'm not at all sure it's DT, but it seems like there's a correlation since 4.0, and worse since 4.2.  That's ~about~ when it started - it's random enough to be in doubt.  Everything else works fine.

Could it be a software/driver conflict w/ my Logitech optical mouse?

Wow seriously? That sounds extremely.... unlikely. Are you talking about the windows version? And the mouse freezes up when you're doing what exactly?

Playing around with an embedded javascript interpreter.

The filter box is parsing code live to show only dwarfs with a rage trait score that is evenly divisible by 5. Stupid filter, but shows off some of the power of filtering I plan to add.

Step 1: Double click on a Dwarf's name
Step 2: Cry in joy at the amount of information.

Thank you, chmod.

(Also, I just noticed from this that one of my Dwarve's names translates to Ultranet. Win.)

Awesome. I am rather pleased with the details screen so far. And finding funny translations of names is half of it.

I haven't been able to get Dwarf Therapist to run at all. Every time I try, it tells me that the application configuration is incorrect. I've tried multiple versions and the error message is always the same.

edit: nevermind, I updated my .NET framework and it runs fine  *feels like an idiot* -.-

So, what's in the works for the next version, chmod?

I am having trouble running this.  I get the message box that it can't talk to this version of DF.  I am using 40d16.  Also when I run it with -trace I don't see any output, where does it go?  Does this have to be installed anywhere specific?

Edit: I re-downloaded and extracted it to actually use the folder structure in the zip file, and lo and behold it is working wonderfully.  Thanks.

Strange, as I don't use any .NET stuff. Are you sure you're using *this* tool, and not Dwarf Manager?

A whole lot of nothing at the moment. Having a bit of a personal crisis at home and don't really want to talk about it.

You need to run the .exe from inside the folder it came with. It doesn't need to be installed, you just have to unzip it somewhere, and double-click the exe. Feel free to post the logfile it makes if you can't connect, but I guarantee you that it works for several hundred people on 40d16, so we can figure it out together.

Just to satiate my curiosity - judging from the most recent screenshot, did you deliberately exclude the personality data on nonlisted traits (because the data is presumably close enough to some nominal value, say 50, to be useful), or is it actually impossible to read nonlisted trait data from the game?

Also, downloading new version.

It's too close to 50 to matter. I forget the exact number, but it has to be towards the extreme to show up in the traits list in-game. I could show th raw numbers but it would get insanely cluttered.

Having some problems getting started.  I'm running df version 40d16 and dt linux alpha R296.  It starts fine, but when I try to connect to DF, I see this in the trace:
Code: [Select]
[22:52:52.113] [DEBUG] src/mainwindow.cpp (ln 201 ):  attempting connection to running DF game
                       qdebug
[22:52:52.113] [Trace] attempting to find running copy of DF by executable name
[22:52:52.138] [Trace] FOUND PID:
                       8831
[22:52:52.139] [Trace] opened
                       /proc/8831/maps
[22:52:52.243] [DEBUG] src/dfinstancelinux.cpp (ln 387 ):  setting heap start address at 9dd2000
                       qdebug
[22:52:52.253] [Trace] STARTING ATTACH                       0
[22:52:52.253] [Trace] waiting for proc to stop

                       1
[22:52:52.257] [Trace] STARTING DETACH
                       1
[22:52:52.257] [Trace] FINISHED DETACH
                       0
[22:52:52.257] [DEBUG] src/dfinstancelinux.cpp (ln 405 ):  base_addr: 0 HEX 0
                       qdebug
[22:52:52.327] [Trace] GOT MD5:
                       36410169
[22:52:52.327] [DEBUG] src/dfinstancelinux.cpp (ln 409 ):  DF's checksum is 22b9339
                       qdebug

In the end, nothing is ever loaded.  The status bar in DT remains "not connected" and none of the buttons are active.

Suggestions?

It looks like you're not running from the directory it came in. Since base_addr == 0 in the log. It can't find the config files. Try cd'ing into the directory you untarred and run it from in there.

Could you count them as 50(ish) while sorting them, and just not show it? It doesn't make sense for Dwarves with low scores to be sorted so that they are considered higher than Dwarves without the trait active.

It works that way in 0.4.2 doesn't it? I know I fixed that just can't remember I did before that release.
