I still get the "Unable to talk to Dwarf Fortress" error starting about the time I've got 12 or so dwarves, and from then on DT won't load up.  HALP!

If I'm missing it, just point me to the post, if not, what's the wait?
Well it's work, and you're asking for it for free. So... it'll get there when it gets there.

Yeah you have the *other* version of 0.31.04. I'm working on it.

Cue needy birds picture:

Hello,

How do i "map" out caste information in order to make "new" column.
The caste info I am looking at is Deon's mod. I searched for  manual or hints to "make" the column and
finding a way to tie the caste relationship.

Any link or suggestion would be appreciated.

I am really not sure, you would need some memory vectors and the like I would think, then you would also need to change the source and recompile it to accept that.  I have to admit DT does often surprise me so maybe there is a way that you can do that all currently inside of it, but if there is it would be an amazing piece of forward thinking, and while I believe Chmod is awesome, I am not sure he is clairvoyant yet... However this could prove my suspicions.

reconstruct the source?!!  oh gee that complicates the idea.  So I stick to the current DT rather than mess
around with Chmod's touch. :)

So how exactly do you figure out what to change in order to get Therapist to work with new versions of Dwarf Fort?

This should work with 31.05, if put into the folder as v0.31.05.ini with the other similar files:

Oddly, DT crashed while searching for the creature vector, but it had already found the one that seems correct, so I could work with that.

Ahh new DF releases are bittersweet, thanks for nailing those down Malicus. I had been aiming for a new release this weekend anyways, so adding 0.31.05 is a good excuse. Also linux support is almost 100% again, and setting mining and woodcutting are working. So this should be a good release.

Stay tuned.

So I've been testing a bit with v0.31.04 (graphics as well as legacy) and v0.31.05 (graphics as well as legacy) on windows, and earlier today I got v0.31.04 and 05 working on Linux.

Things are looking pretty solid so far. I'm targeting a release for tomorrow afternoon. :)

Oh, right, that .ini is for the non-legacy version, by the way.  I'd heard that the numbers are different for the legacy versions, but I didn't bother checking that (mostly because the main reason I searched for those was for my own use, anyway).

Just compiled up a Linux version from the Mercurial repo (changeset b4f573c27052). It seemed to connect to DF, but pressing "Read Dwarfs" caused it to hang and use increasing amounts of RAM (had to kill it fairly swiftly). Running on Ubuntu 10.04. It's entirely possible that I compiled it incorrectly (qmake followed by make, using QT4). Am I missing any important changesets?
