You have to launch DT while DF is in the main menu.
It still doesn't work. 'Does not know how to talk to...'

I'm having trouble with this as well, DT just refuses to read Dwarf Fortress.
And yes, I am using the latest version of DT.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Have you tried running both Dwarf Fortress AND therapist as an administrator? Right click -> run as administrator. This fixed it for me and made it work flawlessly.

Ya know I see people saying to connect in the main menu, I've connected in game rather than in the main menu. Open the save, wait for it to load, when loaded fire up therapist and it works...
Same here...
Also, praise be to CHMOD. I couldn't handle 16 dwarves w/out DT.

Eh I was doing somewhat well without it, I had a habit of listing immigrant dwarfs on a piece of paper in the older versions but now that they actually have varied skills now therapist will be a welcome addition.

Is there currently a function to group dwarves in collapsible lists by custom profession? I used to use the old Dwarf Manager, and DT seems to have a slightly different GUI.
Ha, nevermind. Found it. "List by:", dur.

I made some fanart for DT. Monsters and zombie carp are all essential for a good time, but so is our trusty therapist!

I figured out my problem a page ago, just never posted. Didn't have the newest version, because the first post isn't updated, so it's somewhere on page 47 or something.

I start it up in-game and it works just fine now.

Yep, best thing to do is to just rename them to dead. That way they show up on the list as dead and you know not to use them.

Yep, best thing to do is to just rename them to dead. That way they show up on the list as dead and you know not to use them.

"z-dead" Alphabetical listing and that rot.

I have not played the new version enough to even know what a burrow is :( I hope to get some time in tonight to fix up DT and start a real fort.

Definitely. You deserve a chance to play, too.
As for the upcoming release, I'd just like to put in that I would find the ability to assign equipment or positions to Dwarves via Dwarf Therapist wholly unnecessary, though the ability to at least view the military skills should be included.
