Just tried this out today. Could you add gender and allow sorting by gender.  Also add whether or not a dwarf has a baby.

The reason for this is I don't let female dwarfs have dangerous jobs because if they die and have a baby it can cause a tantrum spiral. Also know the gender will help me in naming my dwarfs.

Oh I see the gender option now. Should have played around with it more before asking.

4) have no difference in gameplay with d16.

So, what's the point in finding the memlocs?

The macro functionality is a pretty huge gameplay enhancement.

Once you play around with them a bit, they're absolutely divine.

Look for updated memory offsets for 40d17 on the download site.

But it doesn't work with d18 yet ;)

Ignoring the spam bot...  I'm going to add to the call of "40d18 offsets please".  As much as I want to test d18, I don't think I can play DF anymore without Dwarf Therapist.  I'm so spoiled.

A version that works with 40d18 would be fantastic!

A great tool. Now I think I can play after a first wave of the imigrants :D

I did a little work, and here are memory layouts for the linux versions:

http://github.com/silk/dwarf_therapist/raw/master/etc/memory_layouts/linux/v0.28.181.40d17.ini
http://github.com/silk/dwarf_therapist/raw/master/etc/memory_layouts/linux/v0.28.181.40d18.ini

You have to put them to the etc/memory_layouts/linux folder. And add to the etc/game_data.ini:

Quote
[checksum_to_version]
0x8f55a625 = v0.28.181.40d17
0x777e7d67 = v0.28.181.40d18

Are there instructions anywhere how to update the addresses? I've used some memory editors before and I think I might be able to find the right addresses if I knew what to look for. Also, is the checksum md5 and what is it taken of?

Here are the offsets for windows and linux for both d17 and d18.  I rechecked your offsets silk and they were correct, so I just used your files for linux.

http://dwarftherapist.googlecode.com/files/updated_offsets_windows_linux_d17-18.zip

For future reference, all the addresses and offsets used in dwarf therapist except for the dwarf race index are ones we use in dfhack, so you can get them from the memory.xml file from there.

Also silk, you probably didn't look for it, but I have a git repository for dwarftherapist at

 http://github.com/belal/dwarftherapist

It has the dt trunk as well as the fork I did to have it use dfhack as a backend.  So if you are planning on doing anything with the source I would encourage you to fork that project directly.  You are of course under no obligation to do so, but it will make including your work easier to manage!

Dfhack is windows only, I assume?

Doh, I was looking, I must have done some stupid thing that I didn't find it.

I'll rebase my work on it.

So...  were there plans to find the offsets for d19, or are you just going to wait for the next d# (or perhaps even DF2010)?  I think I've been using the lack of DT as my excuse to not work on my fortress.  ...it's not a good excuse.

*downloads program*

 :D  This is awesome!

*tries to edit skills and traits*

 ???  Hmmm.

*sees author is anti-cheat*

 ::)  Deleted.

Seriously, this program would be so much more useful if it could be used to edit skills and traits.
