Just in case other people in this thread are having trouble with DT and miners; you have to unassign and reassign the Mining labour in-game or else they won't go and get their picks, it seems.  :o

Seems to be the same with wood cutting, too, at least for me. oh well, soon moar updates will come.

I've pretty much had that problem off and on any time I assign a task before I assign a laborer for it.

That makes sense, since equipment handling is now different than it was in 40d...and they have equipment preferences too.

All the addressess (0x0166ed2c, 0x0166eccc, 0x0166ecb4) shows me right info about dwarves and setting their jobs is working excellent right - i can see in DF that job which was grey disabled becomes white enabled.

BUT!! FFFFFFFUUUUUUU--ing dwarves won't work until i resave/load game OR switch the job on/off manually.

They can loiter for ages with NOJOB status and having the job enabled.
Then i catch them, disable/enable that job and they run to the workplace. WTF!

I do hope he manages a full integration with DF 0.31 soon. Currently, I it seems that it cannot even see several positions. Reported 78 Dwarves when I had 100, and often will not even connect to DF without me restarting either DF or Therapist.

Not to mention it not properly recognizing 1/2 of the positions. I almost wish it would look at where the game is located, check the raws for what the position names are, etc.


Two or three of us have posted how to fix this in the last couple pages. It requires all of a minute or two and the change of one line with a text editor. You probably could have done it in about the same amount of time it took you to post this message.

change 212 to 213

then find

212/type

and add these two lines after it

213/name = "Tan a Hide"
213/type = BUILD

I'm not sure that's correct.  I'm showing job 213 for two of my dwarves, who are actually performing two different tasks.  The common element for all 3?  They're in the reaction_other file.  Both of my dwarves are performing custom tasks, and in the vanilla raws, tan a hide is in reaction_other.
