Anybody know if the issue with miners and woocutters not picking up their repsective tools when you set mining or woodcutting using DT has been fixed?
Yep it was fixed in 0.5.3 http://code.google.com/p/dwarftherapist/source/browse/CHANGELOG.txt

Oh, okay, I don't look at the main site much and yea I could have looked at the changelog.

I've got a weird problem with DT. I got it working fine with 31.08 with that .ini file recently, but now when I load it up it claims DF isn't running (which it very much is). What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

(EDIT: The weird thing is, it acts as if it is connected - all of the options are available except 'connect to DF', and everything is normal except there are no dwarves listed.)

And resolved. Restarting DF did it.

I'm getting this exact issue, except for the part where restarting doesn't fix it. Dwarf Therapist is recognizing my version (31.08 Graphics), but any time I try to load it up it tells me that Dwarf Fortress is not currently running.

I am getting this on occasion and sometimes it requires more than a restart for me as well, like sometimes I need to pass a season.. but *SO FAR* it has always re-linked to dwarf fortress after a little while and some restarts.

i cant get it running at all at the moment after the reloading :(

"I'm sorry but I don't know how to talk to this version of Dwarf Fortress! (checksum:0x4c1d69fe)"

DT 0.5.4
DF 0.31.08

[edit] Got it working. You should really add instructions with the ini code, and put it in the original post so people don't have to dig through replies.

Anyone else get that the download has a broken .dll?

Edit: That was using Chrome. Now I've used IE the download is fine.

I'm running May Green's DF v31_08 under 32-bit Vista, and am trying to use the just-released Dwarf Therapist 0.5.5. However, when I launch Therapist while DF is running it claims that "Dwarf Fortress has either stopped running, or you unloaded your game. Please re-connect when a fort is loaded."

I've read that sometimes you need to re-load the game or wait until a season passes etc., but I'm now in summer and the first wave of migrants have just arrived and Therapist still won't connect.

I also noticed that the "Connect To DF" button is greyed out, do I can't attempt to reconnect without quitting and re-launching Therapist.

Is there some trick I'm missing? Or is Vista's UAC somehow interfering with Therapist's attempts to poke at DF's memory? I tried running Therapist in Administrator mode but that didn't seem to help either.

When I've had that happen it's always fixed by restarting DF.

Tried restarting twice now and it makes no difference. Made a thread on the DT forum here: http://udpviper.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=18033

Yeah sorry. Sometimes I fail my roll. But the sense of entitlement your average user has is pretty astonishing.

You're exactly right. I wish all of my software came without manuals. That way I could spend hours reading witty and unhelpful information on the internet before finally finding the answer I need. That's so much more rewarding than actually using the software.  :D

Minor note, it doesn't take 'hours' to skim through a few pages of forum posts looking for some offsets that were very helpfully provided by the community.
