But it's missing beer and beards.  I know it's not "canon" that dwarfettes should be scruffy, but I would think an axe-demi-maiden should grow one...

I quibble only because I'm jealous of the artists ability where I have none... ;)

Scruffy isn't part of it, DF dwarves can't grow beards.

Spoiler: raws snippet (click to show/hide)

Beer of course is essential.

Can we view non-dwarf creatures somehow in this version?

I am trying to experiment with cattle breeding, but the game has some issues with the way animals are described: it merely gives you the highlights, ignoring important descriptions. It will say something like "She is incredibly skinny, but gigantic overall." Another says "She is very muscular and just gigantic overall."

However, the much faster (and thus possibly much stronger) cow is the skinny one. I nearly slaughtered her! I can't really tell from the silly descriptors. Certainly when restricted from viewing and examining cattle for the kind of judgments we could make in person, we should be given the information to make the same judgments.

I've been wondering this as well, also asked in the modding forum whether it would be possible to do - view their stats, and mark the undesirables for butchering from the program. Through DT would be much easier than downloading and running another program when I decided it was meat time.

So Ledi's been training the cats into an army of disposable warbeasts?  Why did no-one think of this sooner?!
Hellcannon seemed to be constantly on the verge of death and Levergedon before my turn helped, but ultimately what killed it was Ledi's cat army.

Along those lines, I've been wondering about how nice it would be to have rooms listed.

Imagine all the info right infont of you, how many bedrooms you have, the quality, who's assigned to what, workshops, dinning halls... Glorious!

This isn't a bug report, particularly since it's 0.4.1, but I just thought it was funny.

I'm training some dwarves to kill the Avatar of Armok, using macros to run a sealed fortress.  As in, the fortress is completely automated, and this time I'm positive it'd run forever.  The macros use the job management system, and my job manager has *constantly* had jobs to manage for about 25 years.  So I double-clicked him in Dwarf Therapist.  All his social skills are level 20, of course, with close to 30K experience each.

His Organizer level, however, is "-87" and the progress bar is doing a "please wait" animation (:

This doesn't bother me in the slightest, the Therapist shows me his three stats which are all I really care about (60, 67, and 81).  It's so awesome to have that information available, thank you.

Kind of, bugreport.
Wine & df .3:

Whenever i read the "doesn't care about anything anymore" line, i instantly imagine a dwarf, sitting alone on a swing set. Just slowly rocking back and forth, somberly staring at the ground, and stopping every once in a while to sigh.
It's mildly depressing.

Just a small suggestion.

The vertical profession names can be difficult and tedious to read at a glance and would be better if positioned something like this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Forgive the quick and messy editing but it should get the idea across.  If presented as a diagonal rather than vertical the profession/labour names are much easier to read and it improves usability massively, in my opinion at least.
If it is not a difficult to change to include it would be worth doing.

Also I'm curious how DT writes changes to memory, does it directly change the values itself or issue commands to dwarfort.exe for it to commit the changes?

Kazang, if memory serves it used to be like that and a lot of people hated it.

How about a little picture of a pickaxe :)

I admit finding a sensible image for each might be hard, but we are DF players, hard is bread and butter to us.

Maybe there could be a way to switch between different ways to render these labels in the options dialog. That would certainly work too :)

Well, I don't like it vertically, I like it horizontally. It may be hard to read, but for me it's easier than reading it vertically.
