Why won't he give you a DS? That's kind of a dick move, if you ask me.

He won't give me one on the principe that they're all his, and not mine, apparently.

Here's a thought, why don't you try to BUY one from him?

I wouldn't give any of them away to a pesky member of my extended family unless there was a significant monetary reimbursement for it. If he's reasonable, you might even be able to haggle the price down.

Looks like I'm out of luck then...

When I win a prize from my hard earned work no amount of money will make me sell it.

I suspect the machines probably delay 1/100 of a second before moving over the best position, and then move 1/100 of a second early, leaving no visible effect though a steadily increasing difficulty as the seed reaches lower values.

Possibly also a delay between button press and response.

These machines are in Chuckie Cheeses too, right?  How the heck could a child beat it let alone a drunk adult?

Chuckie Cheeses serves booze?

Also If I had 4  or 5 I'd probably give the extras to people I trust/like, which there are few of.

If ownership is the problem, could you ask to borrow it for an indeterminate period of time, while reassuring him you'll be careful whit it and that it's still his?

They'll probably remove the machine when they find out.  Noone is allowed to make a profit from them!

They probably still profit. All the hundreds of fools walking in, and failing. At my mall's arcade it costs 5 bucks for 3 games and I think like 2 for 1.

Oh man, I always have to try these things when I see them!  I've only won once, though.  I won a cellphone, which I willingly gave to a very good friend of mine.  Of course, that machine didn't have DSes or PSPs in it, so I imagine they didn't make it QUITE so fiendishly difficult.  Every other time I get tantalizingly close... it simply must be rigged.  It's the only logical explanation.
