Miner Wars, a game that is due to come out next month, with both single player and multiplayer play. You control a mining ship-thing-manned-probe-thing, and you..Mine. With rockets. In space. Did I mention you mine asteroids in space?  ;D

Anyway, in space, all rock is destructible, with some very snazzy graphics, might I add. You..Do things, while you're mining such as...Ok, so I don't even know much about it..at all, and I read very little, but just watch the two videos, trust me, they speak for themselves.

This is what the blurb on the side states-

I think it looks awesome.

looks really fun. kinda like mmo descent. looking forward to trying this out.

I hope I get to carve my face into an asteroid.
On the other hand, if asteroid could be carved into shapes, I'm not sure I would want my face floating around an asteroid belt filled with phallic rocks.

I hate being so shallow in regards to a game that could be a really good time, but the voices of the two characters they introduce sound like they were produced with Simonize or Windows Scheduler.

Otherwise it looks like fun.

Looks good. So, you can just blow a hole in an asteroid if you begin to crash.

Thread necromancy, they just hit closed beta although it mostly seems to be for people contributing to the community by spreading the word and art at the moment. http://www.minerwars.com/ForumTopic.aspx?id=230

Oh wow yah just spotted that. XD The month was a bit overly ambitious, but they have been constantly working on it and there's all sorts of stuff to show for it.. a lot more of a game than it was last year.

Looks VERY cool. Downloading beta via BTorrent.

Wait... closed beta...  what do you have to do to get in??

EDIT: I, too, quite enjoyed Descent. Only ever played the 3rd, I seem to have heard that the 2nd was more popular...
