Civilization Forge: Unleashed

This is a variant of the Civilization Forge mod.

This mod takes the existing Civilization Forge mod for Dwarf Fortress and ups the challenge a bit. The Dyansauri, Hobgoblins, and Frost Giants have all had thier speach capabilities removed. This makes them immediately hostile to you in dwarf mode, and they will siege you instead of trade. While the Hobgoblins and Frost Giants will wait until you're a decently sized fortress, the Dyansauri will attack you as soon as possible. Often in the second spring of the fortress!

In addition, the Frost Giants have had their building destroying capabilities restored, so when they do attack you'll find them to be a pretty significant challenge.

I was very disappointed to find that this mod does not provide pet cats and dogs.

Anyone have any comments on the mod? Any good stories out of rampaging Frost Giants or anything?

Just wanted to say that the mod overall is slick improvement in difficulty over vanilla DF. After all, losing is fun! This is the only way I play DF now.

I have spent 3 hours today trying to find a decent embark site.
i have trawled this forum for sites.
however, gennings worlds in this mod yields slightly diffrent results than with vanilla, so i have been unable to find the same sites as the forum peeps.

so i am requesting a site, genned with this mod that is:
-Fairly flat(hills and mountains makes combat very confusing)
-Has a magma pipe(duh)
-Has a river or some other water source(also duh)
-That has trees(triple duh)
PS. an innitial save from whatever map you are using would be greatly appreciated

i am looking forward to actually trying your mod.

Ok, I've got a world seed for you. It'll complain at some point about 'too many subregions', but just allow that error type and let it finish and it'll gen a world with what you want.

Going from the top left corner go over 2 squares and down 4 so you should be at 3, 5 if top left is 1,1. There you'll see a mountainous region with swamps and forests below it and several lakes. It should also have a bunch of dark towers. Look along the rivers and you'll find quite a few spots with wood, magama pipes/pools, and of course water. A few also have sand and flux, so it's a nice region overall. Most are pretty flat, with everything being 0s or 1s on the height map.

This mod looks great but its a bit dissapointing the graphics dont work(well not 100%).

Frost Giants anger me. I recommend the name Noble Elves for the High Elves. It is a great mod.

I used High Elves because that's a pretty common term for them. You're welcome to rename the ones in your game to whatever you want. :)

And, yeah, Frost Giants are pretty tough. The cause great pain, but this is the harder version of the mod, so I figured people would like the challenge.
