Frost Giants anger me because the creature they bring that lights them all on fire and they die before they can attack :D. You said you want people to find out about megabeasts on their own so here is the creature.

It isn't a bug, don't worry. I didn't see Frost Giants often so I added some new biomes and I modded the phoenixes a bit.

A massive army of Dinasaurs, or whatever, came and killed me small 2 dwarf army, and everything else.
this is the first time i have ever lost a fortress, good work!
i am looking forward spending many month trying to beat this mod.

Remove [CAN_Speak]. I believe the only change from [intelligent] to [can speak][can learn] is the loss of [can civ] which is meaningless for megabeasts.

Edit: Yeah, it might be too late because it's already been generated...you can try Dwarf Companion to change its allegiance?

Nope, that didn't work either.  Nor did removing CAN_LEARN. 

I don't have to regen a new world for these changes, do I?

Hey Meph, I'm back again.

New game, new world, in fact completely new computer.  A Mephansteras showed up again, and once again it's friendly.

CAN_SPEAK, CAN_LEARN, INTELLIGENT etc were all removed the last time I encountered this issue, and this is a completely new world, so those are definitely not causing the problem.  Here's the current version of its raws, in my objects folder, in case you need it:

How odd. I can't see anything in there that would cause it to be friendly.

Perhaps it is the leader of a civ that's not at war with your civ? Although in that case I'd wonder why it was randomly showing up.

Hmmm, yeah, sounds like it's the Leader of a Civ showing up. bhamv, could you check the legends for that Mephansteras and see if he was leading a Civ?
