Is there a way to stop dwarves getting afraid of a zombie troll 20 z levels below?

Cage trap it, or find a way to lock it in and area and let it starve.

Uh, it's a zombie, you know, the undead?

Using some kind of trap is an idea, however I've never dealt with trolls,  let alone zombie ones.

Can't get there without the 50 Zombie trogs, naked mole dogs, and the giant rat (All zombies) killing mister dwarf.

Build a wall so they can't see it. The trick, of course, being completing the wall without your dwarves getting scared off.

considering that the only solutions require you to get your dwarves close to the zombie in order to build something, I'd say the answer here is: no, there is nothing you can do, unless you can get a soldier close enough to kill it(soldiers don't get scared of stuff)

Nope.  But drowning won't work because they are undead.

Another problem about starving an opponent, just for future reference, is that only your own citizens get hungry, with the exception of pets modded in to be [INTELLIGENT] (don't ask me why, that's just how it works).  Wild creatures (intelligent or not), invaders, and merchants that haven't been driven mad won't get hungry.  So it really doesn't matter whether it is undead or not.

I want the water to sweep them into the bottomless pit.
That might require some pressure, depending on the distance, which may mean pumps are necessary.

Just dig an access shaft to the troll. Your miner won't see the troll until he breaks through the last wall, at which point he'll run; you can then have a cage trap or a soldier ready to go when the troll chases the miner.

I'd say the standard solution works here.

Magma.

Or a cave-in above it.

Near 100% success rate.
