Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That was pretty much my reaction when I saw that. I think it's what I get for having his office in a hallway for so long. As for the rest of it, I'm working on it and the guy could have waited, but I'll have to move the stuff early.

Also, the label founder is what I give to my expedition leader/bookeeper/manager.

Oh yea, this fortress is only a bit over two years old, never had someone give a demand this early.

What's the point of being in power if you can't pursue your hobbies?

Thanks :)

As for the pursue your hobbies, he doesn't have anything to indicate that would involve a bed. Although I did give him no title level in consoling and pacifier because I wasn't sure if I would have a mass casualty from the chasm, so maybe he has therapist ambitions?

Or maybe you're working him too hard, and he needs to sleep in the office to keep up.

Or maybe he likes taking naps when he's supposed to be working, which means you're not working him hard enough.

I understood nothing, contributed nothing, but still got to win, so good game everybody else.

Hell, you're lucky.

It's not a problem, just an obsessive noble.

The first time I survived long enough to get a Mayor, his first mandate was to make Adamantine items... and the fortress was less than two years old.

A year later, he had my armorsmith beaten, then she was as a result bedridden for life. Then, she died of thirst because all my water dried up... I seem to recall feeding the mayor to some beakdogs I captured.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Hobbies. Huh.

So the mayor has bed-related "Hobbies" eh?

Ummmm... Yeah, he's probably just a bed connoisseur, nothing weird about that at all.

Mine tends to get called "Fearless Leader", at least up until he gets voted out of office.

I bet the liaisons likes his "Furnacehands".

Maybe he needs to provide an better example? Explains the better deals on stuff. ;D

EDIT: Check out the holdings. I see some standards are set. :3

That's nothing, my dungeon master wanted a copper sarcophagus.. in his tomb.

A spare one, apparently. I couldn't even use it as an actual tomb, or else it didn't count as being an item in his room.

Yeah, the mayors are like that, the lazy lot. One of mine demanded a bed in the dining room... I guess he was really into ancient roman traditions.

What a strange and beautiful world I beheld, but dangerous too, I was certain. And I was friendless and homeless. And so I prayed.
"Hear me, exalted spirits. Hear me be you gods or devils, ye who hold dominion here. I am a wizard without a home. I am a wanderer seeking refuge."

From my experience, they make fewer demands when they get what they want begin with.

the fact that he doesn't have a proper office just angers him.
Get to work you worm! *whip!*

That [Magma] is a bit deep down there, don't you think?
You really aren't thinking like a dwarf.

If you think it is down too far, you move it up until it reaches an acceptable elevation.
