Since all my questions have been answered in this thread I'll dare to ask a semi-related one. I hear there are limitations on # of races that can be eligible to siege you depending on their tag? Is there any good info on how this works? I only found limited stuff via searching.

I'm hoping to allow for a few different races to potentially siege a fort. The general idea being that each race is counterable but also provides different challenges to overcome.

As far as I know there's no limit, other than that only one civ can seige in a given season.

But if a siege extends into a new season can new civs enter the fray?

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.
