Boss Rush RtD - MSPA Intermission. (T27/Psyche)

As the thread title says this is some idea I'm toying around with. The concept is simple - you fight opponent after opponent until you lose. Sometimes a powerful boss will appear but most times your opponents will be mooks.
I didn't work out the exact rules yet. Perhaps I'm using a d10. Perhaps not. I'm not exactly clear about the skill system either, but I'm sure I'll be able to find a solution of some kind.

Anyway. This time, I'll limit the number of players to four. This hopefully ensures frequent updates and the like and makes it easier for me, not to mention that many players tend to trash a single opponent in no time.

So, who's up for this?

Yeah, and then somebody rolls a 6, AFTER it's dead, and ends up exploding somebodies piratesprivates.

Nice that you like it. Anyway, I chose to use a d6, and cut skills entirely. Or, that is, mostly. But you won't really get any bonuses from them, you will just be able to do stuff. So if you have the "Fire Magic" skill, you won't get a -2 penalty for doing stuff like that. But no skill levels. Skill tree is included, however.

Second, after each battle, the enemy will leave a certain amount of gold that will be split amongst the group depending on damage done (and healed). You can buy stuff with the gold, such as better items, potions or skills. In the beginning you will probably get some gold to outfit yourself, and after defeating a boss you can shop again.

Oh, and the enemies will be wacky, don't worry. :)

Oh yessss...

Also, I will now work out some concrete rulesss. Will be right back.

First of all, without skills, doing some stuff will prove to be difficult: Normal combat with weapons has -2 to accuracy while unarmed and thrown will have -1 to accuracy, but unarmed has -1 to damage as well. Every spell that is cast needs to pass a control roll. Spellcasting is no piece of cake, and under normal conditions (no skills) you have -2 to the control roll of the spell and -1 to all other spell-related rolls. But don't worry, your opponents will be weaksauces for the beginning.

Now for some pre-game stuff: Your group has 1000 gold to spend on the equip and skills. Group consent please :)

You can take the following skills :

Skill (Cost, effects, leads to)
Adventurer Work Ethic (100, none, leads to Resourcefulness, Theft (with Swiftness))
Basic Combat (150, +1 accuracy while fighting with weapons, leads to Heavy Melee Weapons, Ranged Weapons, Unarmed Combat, Shield Usage For Dummies, Light Melee Weapons, Thrown Weapons (with Resourcefulness), Exotic Weapons (with Resourcefulness), Staves (with Spellcasting))
Spellcasting (300, +1 to control roll of spell, leads to Healing Magic, Manipulation Magic, Damaging Magic, Staves (with Basic Combat), Little Dirty Tricks (with Adventurer Work Ethic))

You can also purchase some of the following stuff:

Weapon (Cost, special abilities)
Knife (50, -1 damage, very short range)
Rusty Short Sword (100, none)
Club (150, +1 damage)
Shortbow (150, ranged, infinite ammo)
Blade-on-a-stick (150, two-handed, unwieldy if unskilled (-1 acc), +1 dmg, -1 to opponents accuracy if he uses weapons)
Fairy wand (150, +1 to spell control roll, -1 to weapon damage, pink)
Gnarled wooden staff (150, two-handed, +1 to spell power)
Dwarf bread (30, thrown weapon, +1 bludgeon damage)
Klatchian Flamethrower (1000, OH GOD IT BURNS, wagon-mounted, +1 to damage and permanent burn effect)

Armor (Cost, special abilites)

Cloth robes (50, some protection against the elements)
Padded Armor (150, +1 against bludgeon damage)
Leather Armor (200, +1 against slash and pierce damage)
Padded Helm (100, +1 against anything aimed at the head)
Wooden Buckler (50, +1 to dodge against pierce attacks)
Reinforced Shield (200, +1 to dodge, eats a hand slot)
