Build up your economy and buy Austria's italian provinces.  They're the only provinces on your border that aren't cores iirc.

How much will that cost? At the minute i have less than £200. And i'm desperatrly short of cattle, iron and coal. If these provinces have any of that it'll be REALLY helpful.

It will be expensive, but worth it.

What's your political party breakdown?  That can save or kill you financially.  Laissez-Faire won't let you hike taxes over 50% and Free Trade won't let you put tarrifs too high either.  (At least, that's how it is in revolutions, I always get confused)

Do you have any long-term tech goals?

Crap, I have both of those:(. I'm going to focus on the commerce and industry research areas mostly.

What political parties do you have?

You really aren't thinking like a dwarf.

If you think it is down too far, you move it up until it reaches an acceptable elevation.

Just a liberal and a conservative. The conservative is in power and its details are shown in an earlier post. Gonna repost it anyway.

Try to hold an election, and get the liberals to win.

We need protectionism.

That should be easy, as 70% of people have protectionism as their dominant issue. I'm going to bed now.

Everybody is conservative. From my single day of experience, an election won't change that. Switzerland is doomed!

Oh, and thanks to this LP I bought Victoria, and am quite enjoying it. Thank you.

All shall bow before the might of the steep learning curve that is Victoria!(Its actually quite quick to learn - just don't start playing as switzerland. Try the usa for a easy first game)
Patch it to the latest version(1.04). Paradox games are notorious for crashing.
I just did and it mentioned changing the POP's in Switzerland.I will check when I load up again.
I have right to ban! Hasta la Vista, Konservative Fraktion!

Yay! Switzerland isn't doomed! So this isn't completely off-topic: I agree with the idea of buying land from Austria.

(First I tried Chili to get the hang of the interface with a smallish nation, now I'm annexing people as Argentina, with capitalists building too many factories and not enough railroads. Those crazy capitalists, when will they ever learn?

I'll stop derailing the thread now.)
